# Work With FermatMind

The work we care about

FermatMind works on assessment interpretation, career exploration, product systems, content quality, and user-facing decision support. The work requires careful language, product judgment, engineering reliability, privacy awareness, and respect for the limits of assessment tools.

Possible collaboration areas

Depending on future needs, relevant areas may include research and methodology, content and editing, product design, user research, frontend and backend engineering, data analysis, quality assurance, operations, and responsible growth.

What we value in collaborators

We value clarity, careful reasoning, respect for human complexity, strong execution, and willingness to revise work when evidence changes. We also value sensitivity to privacy, psychological safety, and high-risk settings where assessment results can be misused.

Open Roles

FermatMind is building an AI-native assessment and structured decision-support platform. We are looking for people who can connect psychometrics, product design, engineering systems, and long-term content quality. The roles below are real open directions, not a generic talent pool or broad collaboration invitation.

These roles will contribute to FermatMind’s long-term infrastructure: psychometric data, norm calibration, brand systems, product UI, Laravel 12 backend, Next.js frontend, Release Train deployment workflow, and engineering SOP.

1. Psychometrics Data Engineer

**Compensation**: 15K-25K RMB / month, pre-tax, with statutory social insurance and housing fund under the applicable employment arrangement **Work mode**: Full-time, remote supported, Shanghai-based **Status**: Rolling opening; the role will be updated periodically based on team needs

Who this is for

This role is for someone with formal research experience in psychometrics, personality assessment, vocational interests, career development, organizational psychology, educational measurement, cognitive assessment, applied statistics, or quantitative psychology.

Published paper(s) in relevant fields are required. Verifiable formal research output may be submitted as supporting material, but it does not replace the paper requirement. Supporting materials may include journal papers, conference papers, preprints, empirical research in a graduate thesis, or formal project work that clearly explains methodology, data, model design, and limitations.

What you will own

  • Translate psychometric research, career-personality assessment studies, scale structures, norm calibration, and AI-assisted research workflows into usable data structures, product logic, and calibration processes.
  • Support stronger norm calibration, dimension interpretation, and result boundaries around Big Five, MBTI, Enneagram, IQ, EQ, and Holland / RIASEC.
  • Use compliant AI-tooling support provided by the team to turn classic psychometric papers into research notes, Prompt workflows, calibration procedures, and product logic.
  • Help design mappings between norm databases, vector structures, occupation tags, personality tags, item dimensions, and explanatory text.
  • Identify overpromising claims, causal misreadings, clinicalized wording, or overly strong career prediction claims in assessment explanations.

What we expect

  • Published paper(s) in relevant fields are required. Verifiable formal research output may be submitted as supporting material, but it does not replace the paper requirement.
  • You understand psychometrics, scale development, personality assessment, vocational interests, or related quantitative research methods.
  • You understand reliability, validity, factor analysis, norms, item quality, and model boundaries.
  • You can read English academic papers and break down their methodology, samples, limitations, and applicable scenarios into executable workflows.
  • You can communicate with product, engineering, and content teams without leaving academic ideas only in paper language.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Item Response Theory (IRT), Classical Test Theory (CTT), Differential Item Functioning (DIF), or similar measurement methods.
  • Experience in career assessment, personality assessment, educational measurement, organizational psychology, or career development projects.
  • Working knowledge of Python, R, SQL, or data-analysis tools.
  • Experience with AI-assisted research workflows and the ability to judge the boundaries, hallucinations, and verifiability of model outputs.

What this role is not

  • This is not a clinical diagnosis, counseling, therapy, or medical judgment role.
  • This is not a content role that turns psychology terms into entertainment labels.
  • This is not a role that only writes explanations without participating in data structure and model-boundary discussions.
  • This is not a role where AI replaces research judgment; AI tools are used only to assist organization, verification, and workflow acceleration.

Suggested application materials

Please send your resume, links to papers or formal research output, and a short description of your research direction. If you have examples related to scale research, data analysis, item design, norm calibration, career assessment, or model interpretation, please include them.

2. Visual & Brand UI Designer

**Compensation**: 10K-20K RMB / month, pre-tax, with statutory social insurance and housing fund under the applicable employment arrangement **Work mode**: Remote supported **Time commitment**: 3-5 days per week **Status**: Rolling opening; the role will be updated periodically based on team needs

Who this is for

This role is for someone who can work across brand systems, website UI, content visuals, and social media presentation. FermatMind is not an entertainment quiz site. Our visual system should feel clear, credible, young, restrained, and technical, rather than relying on exaggerated decoration.

You will need to build a consistent design language across brand positioning, page structure, result-page visuals, video covers, and social media assets.

What you will own

  • Upgrade FermatMind’s brand UI positioning and visual system.
  • Design UI for website pages, including homepage, assessment pages, result pages, career pages, article pages, topic pages, trust pages, and campaign landing pages.
  • Build visual expressions for assessment results, personality dimensions, career interests, and data explanations.
  • Design Bilibili short-video covers, WeChat official-account visuals, social media covers, and content templates.
  • Work with engineering to turn design rules into reusable interface structures and component guidelines.
  • Use compliant AI-tooling support provided by the team for design research, visual exploration, cover concepts, and content production collaboration.

What we expect

  • A portfolio covering website UI, brand visuals, product interfaces, or content visuals.
  • Understanding of information hierarchy, layout rhythm, page conversion paths, and responsive design.
  • Ability to build around industrial minimalism, geometric lines, data-dot matrices, clear information hierarchy, and restrained technical clarity.
  • Ability to design short-video covers, WeChat visual assets, and social media cover systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with frontend engineering and understand basic components, UI states, and responsive constraints.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Figma, Adobe tools, AI-assisted design tools, or motion/video-cover workflows.
  • Basic understanding of Tailwind CSS, Next.js page structures, or design-to-frontend delivery.
  • Experience designing for data products, knowledge products, SaaS, education products, career products, or assessment products.
  • A stable design-system method, rather than relying only on one-off visual impact.

What this role is not

  • This is not a role for 3D cute visuals, childish mascots, heavy hand-drawn illustration, or overly entertainment-driven design.
  • This is not a role that only produces posters without participating in website experience or product structure.
  • This is not a role that only pursues good-looking visuals while ignoring user comprehension, information hierarchy, and long-term brand consistency.
  • This is not a template-copying role.

Suggested application materials

Please send your resume and portfolio. Your portfolio may include website UI, brand systems, mobile pages, video covers, social media visuals, data visualization, or content-packaging examples. Please explain your role and design tradeoffs in each case where possible.

3. Technical Partner & CTO

**Compensation**: 30K-50K RMB / month, pre-tax, with statutory social insurance and housing fund under the applicable employment arrangement **Work mode**: Full-time preferred; part-time transition accepted for up to six months, with at least 3 working days per week during the transition **Status**: Rolling opening; the role will be updated periodically based on team needs

Partnership structure

This is not an ordinary outsourcing role or a short-term technical advisory slot. We are looking for someone who can take long-term responsibility for the technical system, engineering discipline, and iteration rhythm.

Competitive full-time or part-time compensation can be discussed. Early-stage equity or partner-track arrangements may be discussed after deeper mutual evaluation and will be subject to formal written agreement. Nothing in this hiring announcement should be interpreted as equity, partner status, or long-term incentive being granted automatically.

Who this is for

This role is for someone who recognizes FermatMind’s value system and is willing to turn a live, evolving project that includes assessments, content, career surfaces, commercial flows, SEO, release workflows, and data systems into a maintainable long-term engineering system.

We want someone with the technical-leadership capacity required by a long-running assessment platform: someone who can read code, improve performance, control risk, build SOPs, standardize releases, manage technical debt, and help the team work better.

What you will own

  • Stabilize the Laravel 12 backend middle platform, including APIs, data structures, cache, queues, permissions, releases, and runtime boundaries.
  • Govern Next.js static fallback, SSR/ISR, metadata, canonical, noindex, cache, and runtime stability.
  • Take over and continuously improve the Stage 3 Release Train, including readiness, CI, deployment, smoke checks, rollback logic, and sidecar issue workflows.
  • Build the project iteration SOP: task splitting, PR review, testing standards, release standards, rollback standards, and runtime validation.
  • Manage testing, CI/CD, deployment, observability, performance, security, code quality, and technical debt.
  • Identify hardcoded behavior, hidden fallback paths, fragile scripts, unobserved failure paths, and accumulated architectural risk.
  • Work with the founder, content, research, and design teammates to make product iteration repeatable, traceable, and auditable.

What we expect

  • Real architecture experience with Laravel / PHP backend middle-platforms or similarly complex business systems.
  • Next.js / React engineering experience and understanding of SSR, ISR, static fallback, metadata, SEO, and runtime behavior.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, deployment automation, queues, cache, logs, monitoring, and production debugging.
  • Ability to establish SOPs rather than relying only on personal firefighting.
  • Risk awareness around privacy, commercial flows, result pages, report pages, search exposure, SEO/GEO, and content publishing.
  • Strong alignment with FermatMind’s direction: using science, data, and structured tools to help young people build self-understanding and career exploration clarity.

Nice to have

  • Technical leadership experience in long-running content platforms, assessment platforms, SaaS, education products, or data products.
  • Laravel + Next.js decoupled architecture experience.
  • Experience with Release Train, blue/green deployment, rollback, smoke testing, or multi-environment release governance.
  • Experience with security review, performance work, observability, automated testing, and architecture documentation.
  • Ability to work with AI coding tools without outsourcing engineering judgment to AI.

What this role is not

  • This is not an ordinary outsourcing development role.
  • This is not a role for fixing a few isolated bugs without owning long-term architecture outcomes.
  • This is not a role where hardcoding, skipped tests, or bypassing release processes are acceptable.
  • This is not a role where equity, partner status, or long-term incentives are granted automatically. Any long-term incentive requires deeper mutual evaluation and formal written agreement.

Suggested application materials

Please send your resume, GitHub or code repository, architecture examples, technical-debt cleanup examples, or a description of deployment, CI/CD, monitoring, performance, security, or code-quality systems you have led.

How to Apply

Please send application materials to:

**fuwei8868@outlook.com**

There is no fixed email subject format, but we recommend including the role name, your name or preferred name, and the project keyword you most want us to notice. Please include concrete project examples rather than only a general self-introduction.

Applicant Privacy

All resumes and application materials will be used only for this team selection process. FermatMind does not connect applications to an automated ATS system and does not sell, publish, or share applicant materials with unrelated third parties.

At the first-contact stage, please do not submit ID numbers, bank details, full home addresses, health information, or other unrelated sensitive personal information.

Fair Review

FermatMind reviews applications primarily based on role-relevant ability, work samples, research output, project experience, communication quality, and willingness to engage deeply with the work. For current students, recent graduates, or non-traditional candidates with strong AI-tooling ability, strong project execution, or high-quality work samples, collaboration terms and related benefits may be discussed case by case.
