Two complete CBI source modules · Full guides free
Answer two complete CBI modules: six personal and seven work-related items. Read separate source-key means and two full guides, without risk bands or a diagnosis.
13 questions · about 4 minutes · no signup
For each item use its displayed source anchors: frequency for all personal items and the last four work items; degree for the first three work items. The source does not specify a numeric recall period. Work items refer to your own work; if they do not apply, choose NA rather than inventing an experience. NA also allows unable or unwilling responses. All thirteen displayed items need a selection, with none preselected. The source requires at least three valid personal responses and four valid work responses; average only valid item scores. Optional NA and a fixed interleaved item order are website presentation choices without established measurement equivalence. Saving in this tab is optional. You can stop at any time.

This edition administers the complete six-item personal and seven-item work-related modules from the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI). It does not administer the client-related module and is not the full nineteen-item inventory or a newly validated thirteen-item short form. Personal questions describe reported exhaustion across life; work questions describe exhaustion perceived as related to work. These are separate self-reports, with no combined burnout total, future-risk probability or clinical diagnosis. Both full guides are free and remain readable when responses are insufficient. Chinese is a FermatMind working translation, identified alongside the original English source.
Frequency runs from Always (100) to Never/almost never (0), in steps of twenty-five. Work items one to three instead use degree anchors, also from one hundred to zero. Only work item seven, about enough energy for family and friends during leisure, reverses to one hundred minus its raw response code. Personal needs three of six valid ratings; work needs four of seven. Divide the adjusted sum by the actual valid count and display two decimals. Missing responses never become zero. A full work sum of 325 divided by seven displays 46.43.
All thirteen displayed questions need selections, including NA. Three valid personal zeroes produce 0.00; two valid personal responses are insufficient. Four valid work zeroes produce 0.00; three valid work responses are insufficient. The displayed adjusted sum covers only the rated items and is not a separate standardized score. Read counts and item content before comparing attempts. CBI score points are not a probability, risk percentage, medical cutoff or population percentile. No causal share can be calculated from a difference between the two means.
NFA permits commercial and non-commercial CBI use with a clear citation to Borritz and colleagues’ 2006 PUMA study. This website retains the two complete selected modules, source response formats, one reverse item and minimum counts, while identifying its working Chinese, additional NA and interleaving as adaptations. Those choices do not inherit source validation. The two guides explain higher, lower, mixed and insufficient readings with exact worked examples. Persistent unexplained fatigue or difficulty in daily life can be discussed with a qualified health professional. Work concerns may also require changes to conditions and organizational support. No further personality test is required.
Two complete public guides explain personal and work-related exhaustion using NFA’s complete six-item personal and seven-item work modules. Client-related items are not administered; this is not the full nineteen-item inventory or a newly validated short form. A mean in 0–100 score points requires at least three valid personal or four valid work ratings. Missing is not zero, and there is no combined total or risk band. Chinese is a FermatMind working translation without established local validity or equivalence. Public pages contain no personal answers or means; read first, consider suitable support or stop.
The six-item CBI Personal Burnout module asks about tiredness, physical and emotional exhaustion, feeling unable to take more, being worn out, and feeling weak and susceptible to illness. It describes reported exhaustion across life rather than attributing it to a particular job.
The seven-item CBI Work-related Burnout module asks about emotionally exhausting work, feeling burnt out or frustrated, fatigue across a working day and energy for family and friends. It summarizes reported work-related exhaustion rather than diagnosing its cause or assessing job performance.
It is two complete source modules: personal six and work-related seven. The client-related six are not administered. We do not call it the full nineteen-item inventory or a newly validated short form.
Only the final work item about enough leisure-time energy for family and friends. Its adjusted contribution is 100 minus the raw response code. All six personal items and the other six work items are direct.
The original source uses degree for the first three work questions and frequency for the last four. Both use five response values from one hundred to zero. This edition preserves that difference rather than giving every item a frequency anchor.
Personal questions can be considered separately. If a work question does not describe an applicable work situation, choose NA. At least four valid work ratings are needed for its mean; an insufficient module still has its full public guide.
No. The means summarize self-reported experiences on CBI score points, not future-risk probabilities, medical diagnoses, high/medium/low bands or causal percentages. WHO occupational burnout and the CBI personal/work modules have different scopes.
Chinese is a FermatMind working translation without established measurement equivalence or local validation for this presentation. Both full guides are free, and you may stop here. Copied public links omit answers and means. Persistent unexplained or disruptive tiredness warrants appropriate professional advice without waiting for a high score.
NFA supplies the two complete English modules, source response formats, scoring and permission for commercial use, with the required Borritz et al. (2006) citation. The working translation, NA and presentation do not automatically inherit source validation. Means are not risk probabilities, diagnoses or population ranks.
