SECS 2013 U.S. issues · Two full guides free
Take a free conservatism test using all 12 SECS 2013 U.S. issues. Read separate social and economic means, reversals, missing information and full guides.
12 questions · about 4 minutes · no signup
Rate your positive or negative feeling toward each term, not agreement with a policy statement. Zero is very negative, fifty neutral and one hundred very positive, in ten-point steps. No value is preselected. If a term is unfamiliar, unclear in your context or something you prefer not to answer, select the separate NA. Twelve selections complete the attempt; social needs all seven valid ratings and economic all five. An NA withholds only its own domain rather than filling it with fifty. Do not enter your identity, party, location or a personal story.

How warm or cool do these twelve issue names feel to you? This edition retains the complete English terms and social/economic grouping from Everett’s 2013 Social and Economic Conservatism Scale, with our Chinese trial translation. The source was developed in the United States and explicitly warns that political meanings change with time and place. It is presented as a historical educational edition, not a current universal or Chinese political scale, and not IDRlabs’ separate eighteen-statement test. After twelve selections, social and economic readings appear separately with both full eight-section guides. There are no parties, quadrants, conservative/liberal cutoffs or moral rankings. All content is free without signup.
This edition uses all twelve English terms, seven social and five economic memberships, and two reversals from Jim A. C. Everett’s 2013 SECS Supplementary Materials 1. The publisher labels the article CC0; attribution remains Everett (2013), DOI 10.1371/journal.pone.0082131. Chinese is our trial translation. This is not IDRlabs’ separate eighteen-statement test. The original paper explicitly warns that issue meanings change with time and place and that the scale may need updating after ten years; its historical validation does not establish current or Chinese validity.
Warmth runs from zero to one hundred in ten-point choices, with fifty neutral and no preselected value. Direct terms keep the chosen value; abortion and welfare benefits use one hundred minus it. Social uses all seven valid items, economic all five. Divide each unrounded sum by its own item count and display two decimals. Means stay on the response scale: they are neither percentages conservative, percentiles nor probabilities. We generate no combined total, cutoffs, quadrant, dominant domain or party match.
Any NA withholds only that domain’s personal sum and mean; the other fully rated domain can still appear. Both complete guides remain available and do not diagnose or certify a political identity. Fixed presentation, our Chinese trial translation, NA handling and mean display have no independent validation here. Optional drafts stay in this tab for up to twenty-four hours and clear on completion or retake. Sharing contains a public title and link without ratings or means. No party, location or personal narrative is entered.
These are public explanations, not anyone's private attempt. Full reports cover all 2 single directions and every tied combination. Reading one does not affect your score.
Read seven historical SECS social items, including abortion reversal, with higher, lower, mixed and insufficient-information explanations.
Read five historical SECS economic items, including welfare reversal and the original gun-ownership grouping, without party or policy predictions.
The complete twelve-item SECS published by Everett in 2013, developed for the United States, with our Chinese trial translation. It is a historical educational edition, not IDRlabs’ separate eighteen-statement bank or a current universal or Chinese political scale.
No. Rate your positive or negative feeling toward each original term on zero to one hundred in ten-point steps. Fifty is neutral. There is no default answer, and an unclear or unfamiliar term can receive the separate NA.
Abortion and welfare benefits use one hundred minus the chosen warmth. All seven social ratings or all five economic ratings are required for that domain. Any NA withholds only its own domain, without replacing it with fifty or estimating from the other answers.
No. It is a descriptive mean on the response scale, not a percentage, percentile, probability, population norm or moderate-party label. Two different answer patterns can have the same mean. We do not turn the two domains into quadrants or a winning identity.
No. The original evidence is tied to the source study’s time and U.S. context, and the paper explicitly anticipates a need for revision. Our Chinese trial, presentation, NA rule and descriptive display have not been independently validated here. Results provide no diagnosis, voting recommendation, party match or behavioural prediction.
All twelve items and both full guides are free without signup or another test. Optional tab drafts expire after twenty-four hours and clear on completion or retake. Sharing copies only a public title and link, not personal ratings or means.
