32 published FDS items · Eight full guides free
Rate 32 published FDS situations from 1 to 6. Read eight separate means, complete free guides and source limits. No signup or food exposure.
32 questions · about 9 minutes · no signup
Imagine each stated situation and rate how disgusting it feels from 1 (not disgusting at all) to 6 (very disgusting). Values 2–5 remain numeric. You can choose unscored, stop, or read all guides without answering. All 32 prompts need a response to finish; each part needs all its own items numeric for a mean. No real food task is required. Nine minutes is an editorial estimate.

Explore your reported reactions to eight sets of hypothetical food situations using the complete published 32-item English FDS bank and a new Chinese working translation. See each raw mean and all eight complete readings without signup. These are imagined disgust ratings, not a diet, food-safety test or diagnosis.
These are public explanations, not anyone's private attempt. Full reports cover all 8 single directions and every tied combination. Reading one does not affect your score.

The complete English bank in the 2020 published Supplementary Table 2, with the article’s 1–6 endpoints and a fresh Chinese working translation. The Spanish table’s printed 1–5 format is not adopted.
Each part needs all its own items rated 1–6. Divide its raw sum by its item count and round to one decimal. The eight means are not combined.
Choose unscored. It withholds only that part’s mean, without filling a value; other complete parts remain. All eight full guides are still readable.
No. These imagined disgust ratings do not diagnose, identify allergies, assess nutrition or judge whether an actual food is safe.
No. Rate only the imagined wording if you wish. No tasting, smelling, handling, photographs or real-food exposure is needed. You can stop at any point.
No. Chinese is a fresh working translation from the English supplement. Source research does not establish this online edition’s validity or cross-language equivalence.
Optional tab-local progress lasts up to 24 hours and clears on completion, exit-and-clear or retake. Public sharing contains the title and entry link only, without personal means or answers.
The 32 English prompts come from Supplementary Table 2 of García-Gómez L, Romero-Rebollar C, Hartmann C, Siegrist M, Ferreira G, Gutierrez-Aguilar R, Villalpando S and Pacheco-Lopez G (2020), Food Disgust Scale: Spanish Version, Frontiers in Psychology 11:165, DOI 10.3389/fpsyg.2020.00165, reused under CC BY 4.0. The document was supplied through NLM’s PMC open-access collection. This page selects the complete English bank and the article’s 1–6 endpoints; the Spanish table’s printed 1–5 format is not used.
We use Supplementary Table 2’s complete English 32 items with the article’s stated six-point endpoints. Supplementary Table 1’s Spanish display prints five points and differs in two living-contaminant items. We do not combine the Spanish wording with the English bank or claim this is a validated Spanish or Chinese administration.
Choose 1 for not disgusting at all or 6 for very disgusting; 2, 3, 4 and 5 are unlabeled intermediate numbers. Unscored is available without explanation. Do not taste, handle, smell or recreate any situation for this questionnaire.
The published parts contain 4 animal-flesh, 5 hygiene, 4 human-contamination, 4 mold, 4 fruit, 4 fish, 4 vegetable and 3 living-contaminant items. Each complete part’s raw sum is divided by its own item count, rounded to one decimal. No item is reversed; no overall or short-form score is calculated.
All 32 prompts require a response before the record is shown. Unscored counts as a response but not a number. Every item within a part must be numeric for its mean; no imputation or partial-part averaging is used. All eight full guides remain available even when every response is unscored.
Greater means describe greater stated disgust for the named scenes, not a better or worse person. Different answer patterns can have the same mean. There are no percentiles, diagnostic cutoffs, personality types, dietary prescriptions or assessments of actual food safety.
Changes comprise a fresh Chinese working translation from English, optional unscored responses, complete-part missingness handling, one-decimal display and original explanatory readings. This is not the validated Spanish administration or a validated Chinese version, and source research does not validate this website. No original-author endorsement, norm, diagnosis or food-safety judgment is implied.
Responses and means remain in this browser. Optional progress lasts up to 24 hours in this tab and clears on completion, exit-and-clear or retake. Sharing contains only the public title and entry link, not answers or means. No account or email is requested.
