Original practice bank · All explanations and revision guides free
Read 24 original Java 25 programs and predict output or compilation failure. Get every explanation and four full guides. No level or certificate.
24 questions · about 10 minutes · no signup
For each complete Main.java program, choose its exact printed text or the stated compilation-failure outcome. Use Java 25 without preview features and ordinary standard-library behaviour. English code and output values stay identical in both interfaces; instructions and explanations are bilingual. Every snippet is independent, and no race, external input or unspecified collection order determines a key. There is no timer or speed bonus. Finish all 24 valid choices to reveal the complete answer review. References can help you learn; an assisted count and an unaided count describe different conditions.

All questions and full results are free, with no signup. Saving is optional; only saved attempts can be resumed after a refresh or language change. Tab drafts expire after 24 hours and clear on completion or retake.
Can you trace the supplied program one step at a time? This Java 25 edition offers 24 independently written code-reading tasks across values and expressions, branches and loops, methods and objects, and collections and failures. All snippets were compiler checked with Temurin JDK 25.0.2, without preview features: 22 produce the keyed output and two correctly fail compilation. Complete all choices for this bank’s correct counts, every explanation and four full public revision guides. You do not need to install Java, upload files or submit executable code.
Each matching key adds one and each other valid choice adds zero. Four six-item groups total a count out of 24. No weighting, time bonus, partial credit or reverse score is used. All 24 valid choices are needed before any personal correct count appears; missing responses are not silently completed.
The complete report shows each original program, your selected outcome, the key and an explanation. At zero, partial and perfect counts, all four full revision guides remain readable. A count such as 4/6 means four matching keys on those six tasks. It is not a percentile, a Java developer level, an employer pass threshold or an Oracle qualification.
This fixed bank was checked against the named JDK environment, not calibrated on a representative population. It does not assess building a project, architecture, teamwork, concurrent-system design or live debugging. Retake repeats the same 24 tasks, so a better count after studying keys can reflect memory. Around ten minutes is an editorial estimate, not a measured timing benchmark.
Every section has a public revision guide. Completing the practice shows every guide and item explanation without assigning a type by score. Public guides contain no personal responses or counts; studying before practice is welcome. This is not a secure exam.
Trace integer arithmetic, casts, string concatenation, identity, postfix updates and short-circuit evaluation.
Review bounded loops, while termination, continue, break, switch expressions and indexed array updates.
Review primitive and reference arguments, overloads, overriding, constructor fields and lambda capture restrictions.
Review indexed removal, set uniqueness, map replacement, unmodifiable lists, parsing exceptions and catch order.
This edition specifies Java 25 without preview features. All 24 original snippets were checked with Temurin JDK 25.0.2: 22 printed the keyed text, and two failed compilation as expected. It does not claim to cover every Java API or every earlier edition.
No. Read the complete supplied program and choose one outcome. The website does not compile code from visitors, accept file uploads for this practice or inspect a private repository. Code text stays the same in both language interfaces.
No. It counts matching keys in one original bank. There are no calibrated beginner-to-expert bands, hiring cutoffs, population norms, job matches or Oracle qualifications. Recognising a supplied program differs from building and maintaining software.
Yes. After all 24 valid choices, see every program, selected answer, key and explanation. Four complete public guides are also available before you begin. No account, email, payment or certificate purchase is required.
There is no timer or speed bonus. Around ten minutes is an editorial estimate. Retake repeats the same fixed 24 tasks, not calibrated parallel forms. After reviewing an answer, practise a fresh miniature program to explore the underlying distinction.
Choices stay in the browser. Optional tab drafts expire after 24 hours and clear on completion, exit-and-clear or retake. Without a draft, refresh loses progress. Sharing copies a public test link, without your answers, correct counts or private identifiers.
FermatMind wrote the programs, alternatives, explanations and guides, rather than reproducing a proprietary screening bank. Selected Oracle Java specifications and APIs support the rules. Java is an Oracle product name; this independent practice has no Oracle endorsement or certification. The site displays code as text and scores choices in your browser; it does not execute code supplied by visitors.
