Several feelings may coexist without one final explanation
Read about admiration, emotional closeness, romantic imagination and physical attraction. Explore the four original statements and mixed experiences without a differentiation score or identity inference.
Read the counts for all five response choices and the explicit skip separately. A 3 is uncertainty about the statement, included among numeric answers; no sum, average, ranking or identity follows.
The four distinctions in this topic
- The statements concern wanting to know someone versus wanting a romantic relationship; emotional closeness, romantic imagination and physical attraction; separately describing feelings that occur together; and admiration versus a wish to get closer. These are prompts for your own descriptions, not a checklist of experiences everyone must have. No category has to fit.
- The guide uses these words to make room for distinctions, not to set universal definitions for every person. One experience can fit more than one description, and different words can overlap for you. Feeling little or no attraction also does not create an obligation to select an identity label or supply an explanation through this questionnaire.
What the six choice counts mean
- The personal record retains separate counts for 1 through 5 and prefer not to answer. If the four responses are 5, 2, 3 and 3, there are four numeric answers, two of them uncertain; the counts at 2 and 5 are one each and the count at 3 is two. The uncertain count is part of four, not an additional two answers.
- The record does not add those values to rank your ability to distinguish feelings. A 3 concerns whether a statement currently fits, not how much attraction you feel. Skips are not replaced with a middle choice or a zero. Even if all four statements are skipped, no absence of attraction, avoidance or identity can be inferred.
Examples of overlapping experiences
- Someone might admire a musician’s style, enjoy talking with a friend and imagine a romantic relationship with another person. Those observations need not have one common meaning. Admiring a performance alone does not establish physical attraction; enjoying closeness alone does not establish a wish to date. Only you can decide what words are useful, including none.
- Another person might experience closeness, romantic imagination and physical attraction together and see no reason to divide them. The questionnaire does not require division as an achievement. It also does not ask you to test a feeling through touch, intimacy or a relationship, and no score could establish another person’s consent or wishes.
Distinguishing words is different from choosing a label
- This topic concerns the language you use for an experience. Noticing attraction concerns attending to that experience, and current patterns concerns descriptions across time or settings. You do not have to master one before reading another. There is no progression from confused to mature, and the five topics are not developmental stages.
- Being able to name several feelings does not determine an orientation label, and using a label does not require separating every feeling. A distinction can be useful for one conversation yet irrelevant for another. Privacy remains a separate choice: understanding your own words never creates an obligation to explain them to a partner, friend, school or employer.
A small optional comparison
- If it helps, privately choose one word you already use and ask what it describes in a particular moment. You might separate liking a conversation from wanting it to continue, without deciding anything beyond that. Leave unknowns as unknowns. The purpose is an optional description, not a demand for certainty or a diary that must be completed.
- Do not arrange an encounter or disclose sensitive information just to obtain a clearer answer. You can abandon the comparison if it increases pressure or fails to fit your experience. The page collects no free text. A later record may differ, but that difference alone cannot establish a change in orientation, behavior or identity.
No ability grade or identity conclusion
- These four original statements have not been validated as a measure of attraction differentiation, identity or maturity. There is no score, probability, norm or recommended label. Complete records and partial skips use the same general guide; when all twenty statements are skipped, the personal view contains only rights, privacy and safety information, without domain explanations.
- Your responses remain in current-page memory and are cleared by reload, language changes, leaving or retaking. No answer storage, analytics or personal-result share is provided. This public page contains no personal choices. If real threats, coercion or pressure to disclose arise, prioritize safety and suitable support; no exercise requires proving a feeling.
