Check what is allowed before choosing what is preferred.
Compare limits, weighted rules, evidence and alternative explanations. The ten tasks practise stated decisions, not universal best life choices.
A correct count describes ten selected tasks in this original bank. It is not a grade, population rank or verified curriculum achievement. Every count opens every explanation and all three complete guides.
An answer needs a declared goal
A choice can be correct under a specified rule without being the best choice for every person. This section provides the goal, limits or model that makes each key checkable. It does not infer your personal values from which option you select. Read the whole task before comparing numbers: “earliest allowed” and “any allowed time” ask different questions, just as “meets both limits” differs from “has the lowest cost”.
Separate mandatory limits from preferences
First remove candidates that fail a mandatory condition. Only then apply a preference such as shorter travel time or a higher stated score. A low price cannot compensate for a missed mandatory time limit unless the problem expressly permits that trade-off. Likewise, a weighted total is not an objective truth about quality: its weights express the model’s chosen priorities. Different priorities can produce a different result without making the arithmetic inconsistent.
Work a new constrained comparison
Imagine three fictional display plans with a maximum cost of twenty tokens. Oak costs eighteen and has a stated benefit score of four; Bay costs twenty-four and scores six; Fern costs sixteen and scores three. If the rule is highest score among eligible plans, Oak wins. Bay’s larger score does not override the cost cap, and Fern’s lower cost is not the stated optimization goal. Add a new mandatory condition and you must compare again.
Compare the same thing over the same period
Keep duration, quantity and included costs consistent. A monthly figure cannot be compared directly with a yearly total; a once-only fee must not silently become a per-person or per-month fee. Before calculating, write the units beside each number. A precise sum with mismatched units can still answer the wrong question. These invented token amounts illustrate a method and are not recommendations about a real purchase, rental or financial decision.
Keep an unsupported claim unknown
An attractive explanation, a popular post or a newer-looking document can prompt a check without proving the claim. Ask what was actually observed, which people or conditions it covers, and whether the source supports this exact statement. A volunteer poll does not automatically represent a whole school. Finding no supporting evidence is also different from proving a statement false. Use the task’s supplied facts, and name the uncertainty instead of filling it with confidence.
A difference after a change is not a unique cause
If a checklist count rises after a plan, the record establishes that order and difference. It may not rule out a different class activity, a changed task mix or another concurrent event. Do not turn the uncertainty into a claim that the plan definitely failed either. The questions use bounded descriptions of what the record can establish. They do not estimate a causal effect or promise that adopting a habit will improve someone’s grades.
Choose a test with different predictions
In a small fictional model, two hypotheses can be distinguished when a test predicts different observations under them. If both predict “pass”, a pass tells you little about which is right. This is why listing predictions before running a test helps clarify its purpose. Real tests may be noisy, and the true cause may lie outside the list. A perfectly separating exercise table is a learning device, not evidence that real investigations are equally simple.
Explain why the tempting option misses the goal
For a missed item, identify the exact point where the alternative breaks a limit, changes a unit or adds an assumption. Then alter one fictional input and see whether the selected plan changes. This checks your reasoning more directly than memorizing an option letter. Work with invented details and avoid using a quiz result as permission for a real commitment. All explanations and all three guides stay available regardless of your correct count.
