Read the selected behaviours and actual conditions before interpreting this part’s mean.
This part observes postponement linked to self-added standards when necessary requirements are already met. It rates neither work quality, carefulness, personal worth nor clinical perfectionism, and never recommends lowering safety or compliance requirements.
Complete all 24 selections first. Each four-item part needs three ratings for a one-decimal mean from 1 Never to 5 Almost always. One opposite item per part, six in total, is scored as six minus a valid response; NA is excluded without zero-filling. Minimum counts are website completeness rules, not research cutoffs. Six separate means or insufficient-information states produce no total or highest, close-score or tied personality assignment. Decimal differences establish neither significance, causes, ability nor change.
What this part describes
“Perfectionist” is a reading label here for reported waiting for ideal conditions, repeatedly polishing details that can change later or delaying an ordinary first version for self-added standards. The focus is the gap between intended action and postponement, not the pursuit of quality itself. Whether a standard is actually additional still depends on the task’s real requirements.
Higher, lower and mixed readings
A higher mean describes more frequent reports in this set during four weeks; a lower mean describes fewer, without better or worse quality. You may polish one kind of task repeatedly and deliver another on time. The opposite item concerns sharing a version that meets necessary requirements as planned, not rewarding carelessness. Decimal differences establish neither causes nor improvement.
An ordinary situation and phrase
For example, an ordinary event list already includes date, place and responsibilities, but its layout keeps delaying sharing. A possible phrase is, “The necessary information is here. I’ll send this editable version and leave decoration for later.” This is an optional example, not permission to publish any draft or a reconstruction of your actual conversation from the mean.
Necessary waiting and counterexamples
Missing essential verification, privacy consent or safety approval calls for necessary work. Required accurate figures must not be deliberately made wrong. Continuing an inconsequential layout change after requirements are met is closer to these items. Time spent alone cannot distinguish care, complexity and postponement.
Compare nearby patterns
Compared with worry, this part focuses on extra standards blocking an ordinary version rather than repeated imagined failures. Compared with staying with ideas, substantial detail work may already exist here while action may not yet have begun there. Both patterns can appear without proving a shared origin, fixed blend or psychological condition.
Constraints and collaboration
“Good enough” depends on the actual task, not this report. Client agreements, access needs, verification time and shared processes may all be real. Where someone else controls the standard, check what can change rather than locating every difficulty in personal demands. One result cannot assess a colleague’s efficiency.
An optional observation
If you wish, choose a small private, editable draft. Note a necessary condition and one detail that can change later, then decide whether to finish as planned. Recording alone or skipping it are both options. Do not test the result by submitting errors, bypassing review or extending this ordinary observation to payments, safety, health or formal deliveries.
Scoring and insufficient information
Complete all 24 selections first. Each four-item part needs three ratings for a one-decimal mean from 1 Never to 5 Almost always. One opposite item per part, six in total, is scored as six minus a valid response; NA is excluded without zero-filling. Minimum counts are website completeness rules, not research cutoffs. Six separate means or insufficient-information states produce no total or highest, close-score or tied personality assignment. Decimal differences establish neither significance, causes, ability nor change.
Source and scope
FermatMind independently authored these 24 English–Chinese items and six guides, using names from Sapadin’s six-style self-help framework as background for selected ordinary-task behaviours. No book quiz, case, treatment or change programme is used, and this is not JobCannon’s ten-item test. The author’s website and a 2017 APA educational article supply background, not validation of six universal causes or these items. Steel’s formal 2007 abstract reviews 691 correlations and reports weak links with rebelliousness and some other variables; it cannot certify six styles or causality. Only the abstract and record were read, and no standard bank is adopted. There are no local psychometric results, norms or established English–Chinese equivalence, and no diagnosis, bodily-stress, ability, hiring or career-fit verdict.
