For each situation, choose the approach that feels more natural in ordinary recent life or the one you would prefer to try first, rather than an ideal image. No option is better or correct, and one person can favour different approaches in different settings. Counts and full reports appear only after all 24 selections. If several fit, use the particular situation instead of trying to prove membership of a temperament.
Preparing the test…
All questions and full results are free, with no signup. Saving is optional; only saved attempts can be resumed after a refresh or language change. Tab drafts expire after 24 hours and clear on completion or retake.
When plans change or ordinary interests and shared activities leave room to choose, do you favour fresh engagement, directed action, considered reflection or a steady pace? This Temperament Test uses the classical names Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic and Phlegmatic with 24 independently authored everyday situations and full explanations. It measures no bodily fluids, genetics or inborn emotional wiring, and is not a modern temperament instrument. Read every guide before answering, then see your raw counts and every highest-count full report without signup, payment or a preceding assessment.
Each item adds one to its selected direction, across 24 choices. Every direction appears 24 times and six times in each option position. A complete attempt shows all four raw tallies. These compare choices within this set, not personality content, ability or population rank.
All directions sharing the highest count receive their full reports. Four equal tallies keep all four, without a primary type. A secondary type is never forced from an untied count. There are no hidden weights, random results or paid tie breakers, and nearby counts establish no validated close-score group or error range.
Here the classical names organise descriptive metaphors for everyday approaches. The biology of ancient humoral theory is discarded. Old names validate neither this website nor equivalence with Eysenck, Keirsey or modern developmental temperament research. Melancholic is not a depression-screening result, and none of the labels assesses emotional health, genetics or nervous-system functioning.
Read all 4 complete public result guides below. They contain no private attempts. Every highest-count tie gets its full report, and you can compare other results before answering.
Your choices more often favour fresh experiences, open exploration and enjoyable engagement. Sanguine is a classical style label used to revisit these choices, without establishing inborn optimism, charisma or an emotional condition.
Your choices more often favour a clear aim, a decision and a next step. Choleric is a classical label here. These choices do not establish leadership, efficiency, anger, aggression or control over others.
Your choices more often favour considered detail, understanding reasons and reflecting on a response. Melancholic is a classical label, not a depression-screening result or evidence of deeper emotions, higher intelligence or greater moral sensitivity.
Your choices more often favour familiar steps, easy transitions and a maintainable pace. Phlegmatic is a classical style label here, not a judgment of laziness, response speed, emotional regulation or a duty to care for others.
This edition organises fresh engagement, directed action, considered reflection and a steady pace under Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholic and Phlegmatic. They describe choices within the items, without certifying a fixed personality, bodily composition, inborn emotion or ability. Every full guide is available before answering.
Each choice adds one to its direction. All 24 selections are required for the four tallies and every highest-count full report. No random assignment or ordering breaks a tie, and no secondary type is forced from an untied tally. Counts are not personality proportions, percentiles, norms or confidence intervals.
No. These items, counting rules and explanations are independently authored and have no established website validity or local norms. The historical source explains classical names and discarded humoral theory, not validation of the items. This is not an Eysenck, Keirsey or modern developmental temperament instrument.
That interpretation is unsupported. Here they are classical style labels for considered reflection and directed-action choices. Items do not assess depression, anger, aggression, nervous-system functioning, genetics or emotional health, so results cannot establish those conditions.
No. Other frameworks have their own questions and scoring and require separate complete attempts. This page supplies no letters, five-trait profile, ability or career fit. Relationship suggestions concern specific arrangements and mutual wishes, not compatibility, worth or maturity rankings.
All questions, four tallies and full results are free without signup or a preceding assessment. Saving is an optional 24-hour tab draft, deleted on completion, retake or clearing. Sharing contains names and public guide links without answers, counts or internal IDs. Blocked storage or copying still allows continuation and manual sharing.
DISC is another behavioural-style framework; Big Five forms explore five continuous traits and MBTI has its own preference questions and scoring. None is converted from these counts. A full Big Five or MBTI result requires a separate complete attempt, without filling in traits, letters or career matches from a classical label.
All 24 items, four tallies, four full public guides and every highest-count report are free without email or another assessment. Answers are scored in the browser. Only opting in saves a 24-hour tab draft, cleared on completion, exit-and-clear or retake. Sharing includes names and public links without answers, counts or internal IDs.
