What does this quiz explore?
In this paper forest, a tune stops one note before its ending. Talking trees ask what should come next. You can follow a sound, invite another voice or let a pause remain. The result is a story ending, not a hearing or musical aptitude test.
Responding to an unfinished fictional tune through repetition, collaboration or a chosen silence.
How is your result decided?
Each choice follows an explicit story branch to an authored ending. Changing an earlier choice clears later branch answers. The same path gives the same ending, without a random draw.
Every question, full portrait, example, and small experiment is free. Answers are evaluated in your browser, never sent to a server or put in the URL. Tab-session saving is optional, expires after 24 hours, and is not reused after a quiz-version change. It clears on completion, exit-and-clear, or retake. You can still finish on this page if storage is unavailable.
Meet the possible portraits
These are public portrait introductions, not anyone’s personal answers or result. No portrait is superior; different situations may bring out different sides.
The Returning Echo
Your forest closes by bringing back a piece of its beginning. The missing ending does not need a brand-new invention; a short return gives the tune a recognizable shape. This is the route you chose in a tale, not a measure of musical preference.
The Paper-Bird Chorus
Your missing note becomes a shared ending made from different contributions. The tune does not need every bird to sing identically. It closes because the separate voices have found a moment they can make together.
The Note Left for Tomorrow
Your forest lets the last beat stay empty. The silence is chosen rather than repaired, and tomorrow’s visitor may hear the opening differently. The ending allows a small creative experience to remain open without turning every gap into a duty.
