Original practice bank · All explanations and revision guides free
Practise written English in 24 original grammar, vocabulary, reading and message tasks. Get all answers and four full guides. No CEFR estimate.
24 questions · about 10 minutes · no signup
Choose one answer for each of 24 original written English tasks. Grammar items state the requested standard written construction; reading and message items use the information supplied. English sentences, passages and options remain English in both interfaces, while instructions and explanations are bilingual. Finish all items to see every selected answer, key, explanation and four complete guides. No timer is used. For unaided practice, leave dictionaries and translators until after finishing; if you use help, interpret the count under those conditions. This is a limited practice set, without a CEFR level, listening, speaking or free-writing assessment.

Practise 24 independently written tasks across grammar and structure, vocabulary in context, reading and evidence, and functional written English. Each group has six items. Keys were checked against selected grammar rules, primary dictionary senses or the facts stated in the original passages. Your report includes this edition’s correct counts, every explanation and all four full revision guides at every count. It does not estimate overall English proficiency, assign CEFR or exam bands, certify workplace readiness, or assess listening, speaking and spontaneous writing. The Chinese interface preserves the English stimuli; cross-language measurement equivalence is not established.
Each matching answer adds one and each incorrect answer adds zero. Four six-item groups add to a count out of 24. There is no weighting, reverse scoring or speed bonus. All 24 valid choices are required before a result appears; missing responses are not filled in or counted as wrong without your choice.
A count of 4/6 means four matching keys on those six selected tasks. It is not a percentile, grammar level, vocabulary-size estimate or CEFR band. Zero, partial and perfect results all show every selected option, key and explanation plus all four full guides. Use the specific form, meaning or passage detail you missed to choose a new exercise.
This edition has no calibrated CEFR mapping, exam-score conversion, population norms, age grade, hiring cutoff or psychometric validation study. Recognising one of four options is not spontaneous writing, listening or speaking. Language familiarity, checking aids and repeated exposure can affect the count. Chinese instructions leave the English stimuli unchanged, without establishing measurement equivalence between interfaces.
Every section has a public revision guide. Completing the practice shows every guide and item explanation without assigning a type by score. Public guides contain no personal responses or counts; studying before practice is welcome. This is not a secure exam.
Review six selected checks: present-simple agreement, a past question, plural be, a non-defining relative clause, want with an infinitive and enjoy with an -ing form.
Review postpone, accurate, tentative, concise, reluctant and feasible in original contexts, using checked dictionary senses rather than a vocabulary-size estimate.
Review time conditions, pronoun reference, main purpose, instruction order, causal limits and missing information through six original English passages.
Review six workplace-message tasks involving file versions, dates, handovers, checked figures, uncertain status and conditional instructions.
No. It is an original written English practice set without a calibrated CEFR mapping. Your report gives correct counts, every worked answer and four full guides. It does not convert to A1–C2, IELTS, TOEFL or another exam score.
Six items each cover grammar and structure, vocabulary in context, reading and evidence, and functional written English. There is no listening, speaking or free-text writing mark. Selecting an answer does not demonstrate complete proficiency or readiness for a job.
English is the target language. Instructions and explanations are bilingual, while the sentence stimuli, passages and alternatives remain English. Translated instructions can affect the experience; no cross-language measurement equivalence is established.
Yes. Finish all 24 valid choices to see every selected option, key and explanation. All four complete public guides are also available before starting. No account, email, payment or certificate purchase is required.
There is no timer. This edition uses the same fixed 24 original items on retake, not calibrated parallel forms. For unaided practice, avoid checking aids until afterwards. A higher repeat count after reading answers may reflect memory.
Answers stay in the browser. Optional tab drafts expire after 24 hours and clear on completion, exit-and-clear or retake. Without a draft, refresh loses progress. Sharing copies a public test link without answers, correctness counts or private identifiers.
FermatMind wrote the task contexts, passages, distractors, explanations and guides. Selected British Council grammar rules, Merriam-Webster word senses and the supplied fictional facts support the keys; publisher exercise banks and example sentences are not reproduced. The Council of Europe CEFR framework is background for explaining why this original bank is not a calibrated level test. No proprietary language exam or accredited qualification is used.
