Original practice bank · All explanations and revision guides free
Try 28 original German grammar and reading tasks. Free worked answers, section counts and four full guides. Written practice, without CEFR bands or a certificate.
28 questions · about 14 minutes · no signup
Choose one answer for each standard written German task, using the stated gender, number, register or fictional text. All 28 valid choices are required for counts: seven per section, one correct item for a matching key, no partial credit. There is no timer or speed bonus; about fourteen minutes is an editorial estimate. You may use references, but the count then reflects those practice conditions. This is one fixed original bank, not an adaptive placement test or five calibrated parallel forms. Explanations appear after completion; public guides can be read beforehand.

Read German, choose the matching form or statement, and review the reason. This original 28-item practice covers articles and cases, verb forms, sentence structure and seven short fictional texts. The German stimuli and German answer options stay identical in the English and Chinese interfaces; instructions and explanations are bilingual. Selected primary grammar references and the explicit original texts support the keys. All four full guides are free. The counts describe this written bank only: no CEFR level, official certificate, hiring recommendation or assessment of listening, speaking or independent writing is produced.
Every section has a public revision guide. Completing the practice shows every guide and item explanation without assigning a type by score. Public guides contain no personal responses or counts; studying before practice is welcome. This is not a secure exam.
Review seven written tasks on subject and object case, fixed prepositions, spatial direction and genitive forms.
Review seven decisions on present-tense agreement, strong-verb forms, formal Sie and perfect constructions with lesen and fahren.
Review seven written choices involving statements, questions, formal subordinate clauses, separable verbs and requests with Sie.
Review seven original notices and messages by tracking dates, opening times, changes, requests, restrictions and conditional plans.
It covers 28 original written tasks: seven each on articles and cases, verb forms, sentence structure and short fictional texts. It reports correct counts and worked explanations, without estimating a CEFR level.
No. The German stimuli and German options are identical in both interfaces. Only instructions, explanations and guides change between English and Chinese, so the practised language remains German.
No. The original bank has no empirical CEFR calibration or official standing, and its count should not be presented as Goethe-Institut, TestDaF or telc certification. It does not determine admission, visa eligibility, hiring or course placement.
It assesses matching choices in written grammar and reading tasks only. It includes no audio, spoken response, pronunciation test or independent written composition. The result cannot establish those unmeasured skills.
Yes. All 28 explanations and four full guides are free for every completed valid attempt at any count. You can read the public guides before answering, without an account, email, payment or certificate purchase.
No timer, speed bonus or adaptive item selection is used. Around fourteen minutes is an editorial estimate. This is one fixed bank; retaking repeats its questions, so practice gains after seeing the keys can include memory.
Choices remain in the browser. Optional tab drafts expire after 24 hours and clear on completion, exit-and-clear or retake; without saving, refresh loses the attempt. Sharing copies only the public practice link, without answers, correct counts or private identifiers.
All 28 stimuli and their answer options remain in German. Switching the interface changes instructions, explanations and guides, not the language being practised. Seven items each cover articles and cases, verb forms, sentence structure and short-text reading. This does not include audio, a spoken response or independent written production.
One keyed choice counts as one correct item and another valid choice as zero. The total is out of 28, with four section counts out of seven. All valid choices are needed before personal counts appear. There is no time weighting, partial credit, percentile or CEFR conversion. These fixed tasks have not been empirically calibrated to proficiency levels.
Every completed valid attempt, including zero correct, receives each prompt, selected choice, key and explanation plus the same four full guides. The guides are also publicly readable before starting. No registration, email, fee, certificate purchase or extra assessment unlocks withheld content.
FermatMind wrote the sentences, fictional passages, distractors, explanations and guides. Selected primary references support grammar rules; no licensed exam bank or competitor text is reproduced. This is not Goethe-Institut, TestDaF or telc certification or endorsement. A better retake after reading the keys may reflect recall, so try a fresh unscored sentence or passage when practising the same distinction.
