When particular sounds are extremely bothersome even at a low volume, describing reactions and their effects can be useful. This sound sensitivity check-in uses a clearly identified published source form, with a new Chinese working translation and disclosed website adaptations. It does not classify misophonia, measure hearing or reproduce an audio experiment.
Responses stay only in page memory and clear on refresh, language change, leaving or retaking. No draft, account, sound list, bodily description or score-bearing share link is created.

DVMSQ v1.5, Copyright © 2022 Zachary J. Williams, has a screening question followed by 18 prompts. We retain the English source prompts and numerical labels; Chinese is a new, unvalidated FermatMind working translation. This is not the earlier 20-item pool, the 86-item DMQ, an Amsterdam scale or a competitor’s original questionnaire.
Changes: added unsure/decline at the gate and unscored options on items; sound-list and physical-description requests are privately considered without collection; the optional trigger checklist and exposure-frequency item are omitted. The adapted questionnaire content and working translation are shared under CC BY-SA 4.0, as-is, without author endorsement. The source links and changes notice appear on every public page.
After yes, add numerical responses to items 1, 2 and 4–11 for the symptom sum (0–40), items 12–18 for impact (0–28), and both for the total (0–68). Item 3, fear or panic, is shown as an individual response but excluded from every sum. No reverse scoring is used. All 18 presented items need explicit choices.
A group needs all its scored items numerical; any unscored counted item withholds that group and total without filling gaps. A complete other group remains readable. Fear alone unscored does not withhold the 17-item total. A no at the initial question ends with the source total 0; other items and subscores are not administered. Added gate uncertainty/decline ends without a number. No diagnostic algorithm, duration assumption, cutoff, severity band, probability or norm is applied.
No audio, images, exposure exercises, hearing test, recordings or physical tasks are supplied or required. Keep any examples private, and skip or leave whenever preferred. This form does not assess children or determine a cause of pain, hearing difficulty, aggression, distress or relationship conflict. A questionnaire response is not a character judgment or permission to act against someone.
The original study examined measurement properties in adults and described limitations, including the absence of an interview-based diagnostic standard in that study. Its findings do not validate this adaptation or establish English–Chinese equivalence, diagnostic accuracy or sensitivity to change. If sound-related experiences concern you or affect daily life, appropriate advice can address the actual circumstances without depending on a score threshold.
Three complete public guides cover the total, symptom responses and impact responses, with concrete examples, missing-answer rules, source differences and interpretation limits. All are free before answering and expandable afterward. They are public explanations for everyone, not hidden personalized reports or three independent tests.
Responses stay in page memory and clear on refresh, language change, leaving, browser return or retaking. No drafts, private text, identity or account are collected. Sharing copies all three public links, without responses or sums. A separate 92-item SPQ entry is optional and covers broader sensory self-reports; it does not verify or explain this result.
Read without answering. These pages are identical for everyone, without personal responses or scores.
No. It presents selected-source raw sums and response records, without applying the source’s provisional diagnostic algorithm, assuming duration or assigning a condition, severity band or probability. Misophonia test describes the search topic, not a diagnosis.
No. This is an adaptation of DVMSQ v1.5, with one gate and up to 18 source prompts, of which 17 are scored. It is also different from the earlier 20-item pool and competitor self-reflections.
No ends the source form with total 0; the other items and subscores are not administered, and this is not an all-clear diagnosis. Added unsure or decline choices end without a number. Editing the gate clears downstream answers.
DVMSQ v1.5 retains fear or panic as item 3 but excludes it from the total and subscores. Its chosen response remains visible. This scoring decision does not mean fear is unimportant or identify a different diagnosis.
Unscored is never zero. Any missing numerical counted item withholds its group and total; fear alone skipped does not affect the 17-item total. Frequency items have no stated recent window, items 12–15 use seven days, and 16–18 keep the source’s general wording.
Responses stay in page memory and clear when you refresh, change language, leave or retake. No personal sound lists or bodily descriptions are collected. Sharing contains only all three public guides. Optional anonymous action counts require page permission and global analytics consent.
For broader sensory self-reports, separately view the full 92-item SPQ. It uses a different bank and scoring method, does not validate this check-in or explain its cause, and receives no responses or scores from here. The entry shows the estimated time.
