Consider one current adult partnership over the past month and rate how well each statement describes your own view now. Use 1 not at all, 2 slightly, 3 partly, 4 mostly or 5 very much; choose NA when not experienced or unclear. Without a current partnership, read all guides without answering.

This original reflection concerns your own current adult partnership. Distinguish wanting to continue, recent experience, other possible arrangements and resources linked to the relationship, without letting a total decide for either person.
Each part has six statements rated 1–5 for current fit; NA is not zero. Eight reverse-keyed statements use 6 minus the response. Each part requires six valid ratings for its 6–30 sum and 1–5 mean. Any NA withholds only that part’s mean. Results appear after all 24 selections, without interpreting partial answers.
Read intention, satisfaction, outside options and relationship-linked investment separately. They are not added, subtracted or assigned as types by the highest mean. Higher means greater endorsement of that part’s statements, not that higher is better across all four. Outside options are not infidelity, and investment is not a reason you must stay. Every result includes all four complete guides.
You can want to continue while feeling dissatisfied with recent arrangements, or see appeal in independent life while freely choosing this partnership. Newer relationships may involve few shared arrangements, and longer ones can retain independence. Means cannot establish a partner’s feelings, relationship quality or the future.
Read what each of the 4 parts explores. Your complete result presents them together; they are not mutually exclusive personality types. These public guides contain no one’s answers or personal means.
Read all six intention statements, reverse scoring, differences from satisfaction and a conversation you can adapt. This is not your partner’s commitment or a forecast.
Read six satisfaction statements about companionship, activities and how needs are treated. Includes reverse scoring, a busy-period counterexample and a small discussable change.
Explore the perceived appeal of time alone, friends, family and other living arrangements. Includes reverse scoring and counterexamples, without judging loyalty or replaceability.
Read about shared arrangements, valued experiences and resources that do not transfer directly, with scoring and a private inventory. Past investment never becomes an obligation to continue.
No. It is FermatMind’s original four-part reflection. Theory has cited sources, but these 24 statements and this scoring have not inherited validation from the published scale.
No. Four separate parts describe your current self-reports without judging relationship quality, a partner’s views or the future, or prescribing whether to stay.
This edition has no validated composite formula or tiers. Experience, intention, other options and investment can differ; combining them can hide distinctions worth understanding separately.
No. It includes perceived appeal of time alone, friends, family and other arrangements. It neither asks about infidelity nor evaluates replacing a partner.
Public guides explain rules and examples rather than personal judgments. Any NA withholds its own part’s mean without midpoint imputation, borrowing another part or locking the full text.
You can read every public guide. The questions concern one current adult partnership; do not generate a score from an imagined partner or a mixture of relationships.
The 1998 Investment Model Scale research distinguishes commitment from satisfaction, alternatives and investment size; the authors’ 2011 review discusses those bases and persistence. This edition uses that distinction to organise reflection. Its 24 items, bilingual wording and explanations are original to FermatMind, rather than translations of the published scale or JobCannon’s bank. Their scoring and validation do not transfer to it.
Consider the past month and one current adult partnership. Do not rate your partner, combine several past relationships, or infer mutual agreement from one person’s intention. Without a current partnership, read every guide without imagining a partner to complete the questions.
This edition has no established reliability, validity, population norms, cutoffs or Chinese–English equivalence. It calculates no satisfaction percentage, breakup probability, relationship-health rating, capacity to love or personality type. Changed answers are changed self-reports, not proof that an action caused improvement, and cannot be converted directly to another edition.
Only explicit opt-in saves resumable choices in this tab, expiring after 24 hours. Completion, retake or exit-and-clear removes them. The final attempt is not saved as a draft, and no partner’s name or private account is requested. Sharing uses the public entry link without the four means, answers, another person’s information or private notes.
