Describe your part in an exchange, not a broad people-skills label
Five activities cover explaining a term, a handover, a shared decision, feedback and conflicting requirements. The selected states concern recalled examples, not communication ability.
The report lists each task and its selected state, then counts recent, older, explore and not recorded. All five responses are accounted for without an ability average or interpersonal type.
Communication examples have participants and conditions
This group prompts examples of explaining a familiar term, clarifying a handover, recording a decision, considering feedback and adjusting a shared plan. You might have communicated through speech, writing, sign, assistive technology or another accessible route. The form does not privilege one medium. It cannot hear the exchange, know whether another person agreed or establish that an outcome resulted from your contribution. A remembered event can start a question about a specific interaction without becoming a general communication-skills score.
Three recent examples are three recalled examples
Suppose you choose recent for the first three tasks, explore for the fourth and not recorded for the fifth. The four counts are 3, 0, 1 and 1. This is not a score of three out of five or evidence that you communicate better than someone who recalls older examples. A remembered meeting may have gone badly and still belong to recent. The report preserves that state without praising or penalising it, and equal counts in another group do not establish equal skill.
Make a handover account specific
Imagine handing over a fictional volunteer event. You clarified who would bring the materials, wrote down the decision and later learned that the opening time had been misunderstood. A useful private account distinguishes what you said, what you checked and what remained unclear. A counterexample is claiming excellent teamwork solely because you attended the meeting. The example can reveal an unanswered question without deciding who was at fault. It does not ask you to contact other participants, recount a conflict publicly or upload their messages.
A communication context can change what was possible
Language, access, group size, roles, power, time and the safety of disagreeing can shape an interaction. A state choice cannot isolate their effects or judge a person’s social confidence. Recent and older refer only to the recall window. Explore does not prove a deficiency, and not recorded can mean an activity was irrelevant or you did not want to answer. The inventory keeps all four guides available without turning any state into an employer rating, relationship verdict or requirement to become more outgoing.
Review one exchange privately before deciding on an action
If useful, select a task that matters to something you want to do. For a recalled exchange, consider the intended audience, your particular contribution, the support you used and what you actually know about the outcome. For an activity to explore, a fictional rehearsal or a question about requirements may be sufficient. Seeking another person’s feedback is optional and should respect willingness and privacy. The purpose is a clearer example or question, not to obtain approval, increase a count or make someone else complete the inventory.
Keep this separate from communication practice or assessment
A practice scenario can ask which action fits supplied conditions; this inventory instead records whether you recall an example of an activity. Neither automatically establishes real-world competence. For a consequential role, use its actual requirements and appropriate evidence of performance. This original bilingual edition has no established norms, reliability or cross-language measurement equivalence. No overall level, career match or hiring recommendation follows from its counts, and the public guide does not reveal your choices to anyone who opens its link.
