Sometimes the effort is in coordinating and switching, rather than the company itself.
Look at the effort of arranging, switching, following up and accounting for expectations, separately from the experience of actually spending time together.
This part has five original frequency items. Forward items use values 1–5; reverse items use 6 minus the selected value. Explicit non-experienced responses are excluded. A mean is shown only with at least three rated items: an editorial minimum-data rule, not psychometric validation. Read all four parts separately, without a total or population categories.
Reading your mean
- A higher mean means you more often reported coordination and expectation-management effort. A lower mean means those parts felt easier in the situations asked about. It does not rate responsibility, empathy or social skill.
- Items 10 and 18 ask about ease in requesting a break and making arrangements, so they are reverse scored as 6 minus the selected value. A lower mean may also reflect fewer recent demands; it does not establish skill at complex coordination.
Two different kinds of effort
- You may enjoy dinner with friends while finding the group chat, dietary checks and repeated rescheduling more tiring than the meal. The role you take on may be worth adjusting before deciding you dislike social contact.
- Arrangements may run smoothly while keeping up at the gathering feels effortful. That is closer to interaction load and needs its own context, rather than being explained by this score.
A tradeoff to notice
Thinking through every step for others can help plans run smoothly while keeping you permanently on follow-up duty. You could retain one clear task and let others handle their own confirmations.
Who is doing the unseen work?
Note who initiates, confirms, reminds and handles lulls or changes. Different roles create different demands; they are not a fair basis for judging sociability. This part also cannot identify neurodevelopmental or mental-health conditions.
Share one arrangement
For a small gathering, offer a proposal with a reply deadline and let each person confirm one requirement. Take responsibility for one defined part. Afterward, notice whether the effort reduced before the meeting itself.
Words you can use
“I can handle the booking. Please confirm any time changes by tonight; let’s split the remaining arrangements.” Make responsibility visible without explaining yourself through a type.
Read it alongside the other parts
With higher coordination load and lower interaction load, you may still enjoy the company while not wanting to organize everything. If both are higher, examine duration, role and other recent demands separately.
Check an actual experience
Which organizing task took the most effort around a recent gathering? If someone else handled it, might you feel differently about meeting?
Scope of interpretation
This is FermatMind’s original self-reflection questionnaire, without established reliability, validity or population norms. Social battery is a conversational metaphor. The result is not a diagnosis, ability score or measurement of remaining bodily energy; it does not convert to MBTI or predict relationships or careers.
