Teaching and support tasks
Explore interest in teaching and support tasks through concrete examples, a private small trial, raw-mean calculations and clear boundaries.
Liking for this selected task set, read with rated coverage; no ability, rank or job match.
Interest in another person’s learning or support
- This group concerns explaining, listening, guiding and adapting support for another person. Its ten tasks include showing a registration process, teaching a spreadsheet operation, clarifying a service request and offering specific feedback. Rate whether you would like participating in those activities with reasonable preparation. The result does not establish empathy, kindness, teaching skill, clinical competence or how another person experiences your help.
- S is a familiar organizing cue, not a validated Social score. These tasks involve purposeful support, which differs from enjoying a party or meeting many new people. A person can prefer quiet one-to-one teaching and dislike busy group settings. Someone else may enjoy a workshop but prefer not to offer individual guidance. The selected tasks cannot resolve every setting-specific difference.
Clarify before showing a step
- Imagine a newcomer asks how to register for an event. You could ask which step is unclear, show it at a suitable pace and check whether the explanation helped. Which part sounds appealing: listening, explaining, adapting or seeing someone become more independent? Your interest rating does not show whether you would actually do these things well or whether the person wanted that form of assistance.
- Support has limits and should respect the other person’s choices. A task description is not an instruction to take over, disclose private information or offer advice outside your role. Someone may rate the activity lower because of a setting they imagined, available time or emotional demands. That rating is not evidence of indifference, selfishness or a lack of concern for others.
Interest does not certify a helping role
- You may want to teach a skill while still needing training in how to explain it. You may be capable of supporting others yet not want that as your main work. The questionnaire asks about neither qualifications nor suitability for regulated roles. Use the unscored option for an activity you cannot imagine clearly. A neutral answer is a different response and remains a valid numeric rating.
- Real support may require consent, supervision, boundaries, specialist training and a way to refer matters beyond your responsibility. None is provided by a high mean. This guide does not qualify someone to counsel, diagnose, teach independently or make care decisions. The fictional and ordinary learning examples are starting points for interest exploration, not evidence of readiness to work with vulnerable people.
Support, persuasion and organizing can overlap
- Helping a learner understand a choice differs from persuading a panel to fund a proposal, although both can involve speaking. Preparing a registration checklist adds organizing, while redesigning the explanation can add creation. In a real role these activities mix. You need not choose a single identity to explain your response. Focus on the purpose and process you imagined for each task.
- The display keeps all six groups separate and in a fixed order. It does not infer extraversion, relationship quality, a top-three code or job fit. The core RIASEC link offers the main route for a broader interest profile using its own form. Answers here are not passed into that assessment or combined with its scores, and the two results should retain their distinct meanings.
Observe a bounded explanation
- With a willing peer, choose an ordinary skill that is safe for you to demonstrate. Ask what they want to learn, offer a short explanation and invite feedback about clarity. Afterwards, note whether you enjoyed listening, adapting, checking understanding or preparing materials. You do not need to collect personal disclosures or turn a practice exchange into an assessment of the other person.
- A useful note can include the amount of preparation, the pace and how much interaction felt manageable. Enjoying one exchange does not establish that a full working week would suit you. If you do not want a trial, observe an appropriately public workshop instead. Keep practical conditions, skills and interest separate, and allow your preference to remain mixed or uncertain without forcing a helping identity.
Read the raw numbers with their coverage
- Each group has ten activities with the same 1–5 interest anchors and no reverse items. All sixty prompts need a response before a result appears; the unscored option counts as a response but not a rating. A group needs at least eight numeric ratings for a displayed mean. For example, ratings 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5 and two unscored responses give sum 27, eight ratings and displayed mean 3.4. Seven ratings keep that group insufficient, regardless of their values.
- The original sum and rated count remain visible beside the mean, rounded to one decimal. Missing ratings are not zero and are not made neutral. The minimum-eight rule is a website coverage convention, not a validated threshold. A higher mean records more liking for the rated tasks in this set; a lower mean records less. Different answers, including strongly mixed ones, can yield the same average. No total, percentile, level or prediction follows from it.
Version, privacy and your next choice
- FermatMind independently wrote this sixty-task bank and its English and Chinese text. Reliability, validity, norms and cross-language measurement equivalence have not been established. It does not reproduce an official O*NET Interest Profiler form or inherit the evidence for a published instrument. The official profiler and the FermatMind core RIASEC forms are distinct products. Keep this supplement’s version and task wording with any private notes rather than treating familiar letters as proof of identical measurement.
- All six complete guides are public before any answers and remain the same for every response pattern, including all unscored. Answers are calculated on this page. Only an explicit choice saves a tab draft for up to 24 hours; completion, retake or exit-and-clear removes it. Sharing copies only the public title and entry link, without ratings or means. You can stop, read another guide or visit the core assessment without transferring answers. No payment, registration or desired score is required for these guides.
