Truity TypeFinder vs FermatMind: Free Results and Report Differences
Compare Truity TypeFinder and FermatMind by free-result scope, questionnaire length, report detail and intended use. See what to check before taking another test or buying a report.
Truity’s TypeFinder lets you take the test and view a brief result overview for free, with an optional purchase for a fuller report. FermatMind currently offers free testing and results for its two MBTI-style questionnaires. Choosing between them means deciding what information you want, how you want to read it, and whether a particular report is worth buying.
Disclosure: FermatMind publishes this comparison and operates one of the tools discussed. We checked public product information and Truity’s public sample report on October 20, 2026. This is a documentation-based comparison, not a head-to-head validation study. We did not purchase a current Truity report or establish which questionnaire measures personality more accurately.
What does “free” include?
On Truity, you do not need an account or a purchase to take the test and access the free results. The expanded report is a separate, optional upgrade. You can stop after the free information if it answers your question.
FAQ
Is Truity’s TypeFinder free?
The consumer TypeFinder Personality Test is free to take and includes a brief result overview. A fuller report is an optional paid upgrade.
Do I need an account to see TypeFinder’s free results?
No. Truity says you can take the test and view its free results without registering. Saving an unfinished test is separate: its instructions require logging in before starting and using Save.
Are TypeFinder and FermatMind official MBTI assessments?
No. TypeFinder is Truity’s assessment, and FermatMind provides its own MBTI-style questionnaire. Neither is the official MBTI instrument or a substitute when an official assessment is required.
For FermatMind’s current English offering, both questionnaires provide a type result, explanations of the four core preference pairs and suggestions for further exploration, without a report-unlock fee. That describes this product’s current scope; it does not mean it reproduces Truity’s report. FermatMind’s English test page.

The Truity figures come from its consumer test FAQ; its language help page states the current language scope. Neither tool is the official MBTI assessment.
There is one version detail to check before starting: Truity’s separate TypeFinder selection guide still lists 150 questions and 20–30 minutes for Individuals, which it identifies as the Personality Test under another name. This differs from the consumer FAQ. We have not established why. The table uses the consumer page’s figures for that specific entry point; allow for the information shown when you begin.
Question counts and time estimates describe the session. They do not establish an accuracy ranking.
What could make Truity’s fuller report useful?
Truity describes its Personality Test, also called TypeFinder for Individuals, as covering four dimensions and 23 narrower facets. Its fuller report discusses those facets alongside personal, relationship and work styles and growth strategies. Workplace, Career Planning and Basic are different offerings; their descriptions should not be combined into a single promised report. Truity’s assessment guide.
The useful question is whether that additional breakdown addresses something you want to understand.
For example, imagine that you speak readily in familiar discussions but prefer quiet surroundings and substantial time alone. A single Extraversion or Introversion label may feel incomplete. A report that separates different aspects of interaction could give you more specific descriptions to examine. This is an illustrative situation, not a test result or a claim that facets establish your true type.
You can inspect Truity’s public ENFJ sample report before deciding. The 18-page example contains dimension and facet breakdowns, type-profile comparisons and interpretation sections. It is dated March 14, 2022, so it demonstrates a published example rather than guaranteeing the exact format of every report sold today.
Read a few substantive sections rather than judging by page count. Ask whether they distinguish behaviors that matter to you, explain mixed patterns clearly and offer ideas you would actually examine.
If this style of detail is what you want, Truity’s report may be worth considering. Check the current offer and price before purchase. A longer report should earn its place by helping with a question you have.
When FermatMind may be enough
FermatMind is an option when you want a currently free route to a 16-type result and core preference explanations, or want to choose between an English and Chinese questionnaire.
Choose the shorter form when you have less time, or the longer form when you can consider more descriptions attentively. More questions alone do not prove that the longer version is better for you. Changing questionnaire versions also changes the conditions of a comparison.
Our full-report reading guide explains how to interpret FermatMind’s preference positions, handle results near the midpoint and turn descriptions into practical questions. It is useful if your main difficulty is understanding a result you already have.
This does not make FermatMind a free copy of Truity’s paid report. Choosing it means taking another provider’s questionnaire and reading that provider’s output. If your goal is specifically to explore Truity’s 23-facet interpretation, another test does not supply that same analysis.
Match the next step to the question
“I want to explore the four-letter framework without buying a report.” Either provider’s documented free scope may be sufficient. Choose a questionnaire you can read comfortably and complete attentively. Read what it actually supplies before deciding that you need more.
“I already have Truity’s overview and want more detail within that tool.” Review its sample and the current upgrade description. A second test is not an expansion of your existing TypeFinder result. Consider the upgrade if its particular breakdown addresses your unanswered questions.
“I may need to pause.” Truity documents a save-and-return process: log in before starting, then use Save at the bottom of the screen. This is different from being required to register for free results. Truity’s saving instructions. Check the relevant instructions before leaving any unfinished questionnaire.
“My course, practitioner or workshop requires the official MBTI assessment.” Confirm the required instrument. Neither option here substitutes for it. The Myers & Briggs Foundation’s official-instrument guide identifies official routes.
“I want to settle a disagreement between two results.” Keep each result with its provider, language and version. Matching letters do not establish equivalent scales; different letters do not identify which instrument is right. Compare the descriptions and your experiences without averaging the numbers. Our result-reading guide provides a way to examine supporting situations and counterexamples.
You may already have enough information to move forward. Before buying a report or taking another test, name the question it should answer. If you want Truity’s particular facet detail, investigate that report. If you want a free starting point for preference reflection, compare FermatMind’s current versions. If you already understand your result, try one relevant change in a conversation, study session or work task before collecting another label.
