Distinguish emotional expression from checking specific effects.
Read the impact-distance theme: six accuracy items, missing information, examples and limits, without empathy, psychopathy or risk verdicts.
Describes self-reported accuracy for this group’s specified practices; four numeric ratings are needed for a mean, without ranking groups.
Impact distance: pausing to examine expressed effects
This group revisits continuing a task, hearing someone’s discomfort, time pressure, apologies and later responses, asking how you approached known or foreseeable effects. It contains only six specified practices, not a test of whether you have feelings, experience another person’s emotions or actually caused harm. Emotional experience, expression and behavioural response cannot be replaced by one mean. Answer only for your own past three months rather than rate an absent person. Keeping distance, needing rest or ending a conversation in an unsafe situation does not automatically endorse these statements, and the webpage cannot infer what any of those circumstances meant.
At least four of six ratings, without ranking groups
This edition has eighteen items, six per group, all direct with zero reversals. Choose a 1–5 accuracy rating or prefer not to answer for every item; eighteen selections finish an attempt. A group needs at least four numeric ratings to show its actual rated count, raw sum and two-decimal mean calculated from the unrounded sum divided by that count. Raw ranges are 4–20, 5–25 or 6–30 for four, five or six ratings. Six is not a universal denominator, and raw sums with different counts are not compared. Three means uncertain or conditional and counts numerically, not as a stable neutral frequency. Unscored preferences are excluded without zero or three substitution. Fewer than four ratings leave only that group insufficient. Other groups stay independent and all three nine-section guides remain readable. There is no total, highest type, high/low threshold or risk band. Means establish neither equal intervals, cross-group comparability nor reliable change.
Revisit the order of responding and checking
With more endorsements, examine which items describe continuing a task, delaying a response or downplaying expressed effects. Revisit sequence rather than assign yourself an identity. Fewer endorsements certify neither empathy nor a guarantee of never harming someone; more establish neither composure, stress tolerance nor good decisions. Three still means uncertain or conditional, not moderate psychopathy. Where rated counts differ, first retain each group’s information limits rather than rank three groups by sums or means. With fewer than four ratings, neither of the other groups can fill this group’s unknowns or establish how someone else experienced an interaction.
Distinguish emotional expression from disregarding effects
A calm voice, limited expression or a need to talk later is not indifference. Attend to the expressed concern, known effect and response specified by an item, while recognising that an immediate apology proves no resolved impact either. This form has measured no other person’s experience, actual responsibility, event severity or subsequent facts and cannot infer them from a score. It rates no clinical personality, violence or crime risk and presents no lower emotional response as an advantage in surgery, military or police work, or crisis decisions. The guide explains limited practices rather than supplies a safety conclusion about anyone.
Example: after a shared arrangement changes
Imagine a shared activity changing unexpectedly. Someone has explained an effect on their time while the activity continues. One point to check is whether that known information enters later arrangements or is treated as an obstacle to progress. The example demands neither an immediate emotional conversation nor cancellation; agreements, timing and the relevant people’s choices still matter. The webpage has read no real exchange and cannot declare that a person was ignored or free of responsibility. It makes the item’s response sequence concrete without turning a hypothetical into an established event, deciding fault or prescribing how the activity must proceed.
Counterexample: calmness can coexist with a considered response
Someone with little emotional arousal can accurately restate an expressed effect and adjust an arrangement; someone visibly upset may not have heard the specifics. Outward emotion therefore determines no answer to these six items. Pausing, declining an unreasonable request or protecting privacy should not be treated as an automatic negative answer either. This counterexample ranks no style of expression; it separates feeling, expression and response. Understanding this paragraph likewise does not complete an actual repair or show changed conduct. That would still require the circumstances and subsequent actions the website does not observe, rather than a label assigned through a questionnaire.
Optional check: one explicitly expressed piece of information
If useful, take an ordinary shared arrangement that can be revisited without urgency and privately identify one explicitly expressed effect, distinguishing it from a guessed motive. Simply establish what you remember and what remains unknown. Contact no one for an exercise and record no conversation or private event. This check guarantees neither repaired relationships, increased empathy nor a changed mean and requires no continued discussion in an unsuitable setting. It handles no urgent safety issue and makes no judgment for another person. You may finish here with uncertainty retained rather than take an action merely to demonstrate that you understood a result.
An original theme is not a psychopathy scale score
Research on psychopathy, Machiavellianism and narcissism uses specific methods; six impact-distance items cannot cover one complete trait. This edition carries forward our owned mini-program candidate without SD3, Dirty Dozen, PCL-R or a clinical instrument. It supplies no personality-disorder, psychotic-symptom or risk assessment. Disregarding feelings in the difficult-person bank and concern-related Light Triad topics are neighbouring themes, not reverse-convertible scores. A lower reading guarantees no harmlessness; a higher one establishes no pressure-related advantage or future action. All three full guides remain available so you can understand their limits and stop, without another test filling in a clinical conclusion.
Page memory only, with all full guides free
This candidate retains the mini-program’s sensitive-topic privacy limits. Answers and personal results stay only in the current page’s memory, without browser storage, uploaded answers, quiz-flow statistics or personal-result sharing. Refreshing, changing language or leaving loses the attempt. Back edits are available while answering; exit or retake clears it. Public full text is unrelated to a private attempt. All three nine-section guides are free without email, payment or another assessment, and the website asks for no actual conflict, names or other people’s circumstances. Answer only for yourself over the past three months, never for a partner, colleague or anyone else. You may stop after reading. These explanations supply no hiring, relationship-screening, medical, forensic, security or school evaluation. A lower mean proves no safety, and a higher mean predicts no harm.
