Attuned Response & Repair Engagement have equal highest counts in this attempt
First understanding someone and looking for another step received equal highest counts in this attempt.
Each selected option adds one count to its direction. These two directions have equal counts, both above the other two. The result retains both leaders; question order, codes and option position never choose a winner. Equal counts do not establish a permanent combination or how these responses work together.
What each tied count comes from
- Attuned Response: Attuned Response counts noticing unheard points, understanding a stated feeling and asking whether anything remains to add. It ties with Repair Engagement here.
- Repair Engagement: Repair Engagement counts another attempt, considering amends and arranging a review. It ties with Attuned Response here.
Situations to compare
- When discussion stalled, did you check an unheard point or encourage another attempt?
- When someone described an impact, did you first hear the specific feeling or discuss possible amends?
- After an argument, did you ask about anything left unsaid or propose a later review?
Decisions and timing
- When someone was still upset, did you listen first or suggest a next step? Check their stated wishes rather than infer that one was better.
- In which experience did listening itself form part of addressing a misunderstanding?
Words and feedback
- After checking a feeling, was there an opening to continue if both people wanted it?
- Have you kept asking questions without clarifying what would happen next, and what feedback did you receive?
Pressure needs its own example
- This tie cannot identify which of these directions appears first, takes over or switches automatically under pressure. The questionnaire did not measure that sequence.
- During a pressured disagreement, did understanding or a proposed repair come first?
- What did the other person actually say, and what kind of event was being discussed?
- Afterward, did the situation appear to need listening, action or something outside those two options?
Space and continued discussion
- Before a repair attempt, did you confirm willingness to talk?
- If attempts were repeatedly refused, did you stop or continue proposing them? A result cannot require pursuit.
Check an actual example
- Review an episode in which listening before a later discussion was explicitly welcomed.
- Review an attempt to resolve something quickly that skipped the other person’s account. Separate the observed outcome from assumptions about why it happened.
Optional actions, not a required sequence
- Before offering a repair step, allow the other person to finish if they want to speak.
- After listening, ask whether anything should happen next instead of assuming discussion needs an action.
- Compare an occasion where listening was enough for the stated request with one where a concrete agreed action was wanted.
Keep the questions open
- Which questions led you toward understanding and which toward another step?
- Have you assumed listening alone completed what the other person was asking for?
- If listening without advice is requested, are you willing to leave it there?
Read the count within its limits
- The two counts do not create a fixed love personality.
- They do not establish greater maturity or skill at maintaining relationships.
- They do not mean every disagreement can be talked through or every relationship should be repaired.
- They reveal no other person’s feelings or opinion of you.
- They do not predict compatibility or relationship duration.
- The tie records equal counts for listening-related choices and repair-related choices. How they work together or when either is wanted depends on actual experiences and willingness.
- This original self-exploration bank has not completed psychometric validation. It does not assign blame for harm. Safety takes priority over repair, and no result requires continued contact.
