Separate what the note says from an action it never confirms.
Review six original written summaries for stated facts and unknown completion, without claiming listening skill or operational accuracy.
Read only this module’s units and conditions. Untouched work, missing answers and unattempted modules remain explicit. No overall, percentile, pass estimate or hiring level.
A summary should preserve the supplied account
- Each question presents a short fictional written request and four possible summaries. The matching summary retains the stated reference, time, place, recorded issue and requested check without inventing a completed action. You read the source rather than hear a caller. The task therefore concerns these particular written details; it does not measure listening, note-taking during speech or an ability to handle a real person’s uncertain account.
- The original source values are English, while instructions and explanations are bilingual. Words indicating a request or an unknown state matter as much as the visible codes and times. Language familiarity, reading conditions and prior exposure can affect the exercise. Keeping the source values unchanged across two interfaces does not establish equivalent performance conditions or make the questions a language-independent measure of a person’s general comprehension.
Requested does not mean completed
- A source can say that a check was requested without saying whether it occurred. Preserving that unknown state is more accurate than adding completion because it sounds like a natural next step. Similarly, an issue being recorded is different from it being resolved. The exercise uses a deliberately closed source so that a matching summary can be checked. It asks you to retain the account, not infer the most likely outcome.
- This distinction does not require treating every real note as complete or authoritative. In actual work, missing or conflicting information may need clarification through the appropriate process. Here, however, the question supplies the facts to preserve and does not authorize you to add outside knowledge. When an alternative changes a time, removes an issue or claims a transfer happened, inspect whether the source actually supports that change before selecting it.
A plausible ending can still be unsupported
- Imagine a different fictional request stating that a blue container was logged at the east desk at 12:10 and that its label needed checking. A summary saying the label was checked adds an event absent from that account. A summary saying there was no label issue removes a supplied concern. A faithful summary can remain short while retaining the time, place, recorded issue and the fact that completion was not stated.
- Use the example to notice the difference between editing for clarity and changing the account. Different wording can preserve the same facts, while a familiar or fluent sentence can still be inaccurate. The original multiple-choice bank contains one matching alternative per item, but real summaries may have many acceptable phrasings. The page does not judge a person’s free writing, explain why an option was chosen or certify the quality of a real report.
Six choices remain six choices
- The display separates correct, wrong and unanswered counts, adding to six. A selected alternative that adds unsupported completion is a wrong response to that item; a skipped or untouched item is unanswered. These states are not silently merged. An entirely unanswered completed section still allows review of the source and explanations, without assigning a personal explanation for why you did not choose an option.
- No comprehension type, norm percentile, hiring band or pass probability is inferred from the counts. They are also not combined with the entry, memory, priority or map records into an overall score. The modules have different conditions and units, and no shared calibrated performance scale has been established. Reviewing one changed fact can be more useful than treating a small difference in total correct as a stable personal strength or weakness.
Time limits are practice conditions
- Timed practice uses a site-defined three-minute cap for these six written items. The page checks the deadline before admitting a selection, and expiration closes the section with remaining items unanswered. An earlier explicit finish retains the observed interval for that attempt. This cap is not an official CritiCall limit or a professional documentation standard, and it does not establish how quickly a real account should be summarized.
- Untimed study allows you to compare the source and alternatives without a performance clock, and the chosen mode remains visible. Moving into the background, leaving or inconsistent clocks cancel and clear an active timed section. That cancelled activity is not interpreted as low comprehension. Browser speed, display size and assistance can change how the task is experienced, so preserve those conditions if you privately compare attempts rather than assuming every repetition was equivalent.
Compare a short summary with its source
- For an optional review, write a fictional note with a reference, time, location, issue and requested action. Draft one short summary and compare each stated fact with the note. Mark what is confirmed, what is merely requested and what remains unknown. A willing partner can check whether you added or removed a fact. The purpose is to make the comparison explicit, not to promise better workplace writing or a transfer to another assessment.
- Keep actual caller information, private conversations and confidential documents outside the exercise. Do not send a fictional practice summary through a real operational channel. For actual work, use the required format and appropriate verification, source authority and privacy procedures. A useful next action may be clarifying one missing detail with an authorized person rather than making a sentence appear more complete by filling the gap yourself.
A written exercise cannot establish listening skill
- The transcripts, alternatives, keys and readings are FermatMind originals, not official test items or an authorized CritiCall simulation. There is no audio, live caller, concurrent alert or free-form summary scoring in this edition. No norm group, hiring validity, training-effect evidence or English–Chinese performance equivalence has been established. A correct choice supports only the narrow statement that the selected alternative matched this fictional source under the declared conditions.
- All six complete guides are public before you practise and when every module remains unattempted. You can end by recognizing one unsupported inference, choose another exercise or simply read without answering. No personal account, retained answer profile or purchase is required. Sharing contains the general title and entry link only, without response text or counts; the complete reading another person opens is the same public explanation available to everyone.
