All four directions have equal counts
Across 24 paired choices, each of the four directions was selected six times. This attempt has no unique leading direction.
Equal counts across four directions do not mean perfect balance or an all capable lover. They do not mean the test has failed.
Read every tied direction
- Equal counts across four directions do not mean perfect balance or an all capable lover. They do not mean the test has failed.
- Romantic expression: commemoration, symbols and special experiences.
- Practical partnership: division of work, execution and shared tasks.
- Emotional companionship: listening, sharing and mutual understanding.
- Growth and autonomy: personal goals, autonomous decisions and support for growth.
- The items compare four relationship values in pairs across different situations. Each direction covers its corresponding value situations.
Compare situations and tradeoffs
- Consider which value mattered more in different circumstances. If the circumstances were removed, would you make the same choice?
- If you temporarily had to prioritize one of the four values, which would it be? A tie cannot establish that ordering; only you can check it against the situation.
Willingness and optional action
- All four directions require willingness and discussion. This result cannot require a partner to cooperate or accommodate you.
- If useful, record the first priority separately for different situations. You can skip this exercise and do not need to change any relationship decision because of this result.
A fictional situation to compare
Consider four fictional situations separately: marking an occasion, arranging a shared task, making room to talk and supporting an individual plan. Equal totals do not tell you which would matter most in any one of them. Each can involve different information, resources and wishes. A useful reading starts by choosing one concrete example, not by trying to make every real day contain all four values.
What the example cannot justify
“I have all four, so I am an ideal partner” adds an ability and relationship judgment that the questionnaire never measured. “No leader means I have no values” adds a different unsupported conclusion. Four equal counts are simply six selected options per direction.
An optional private exercise
On a private page, choose one fictional situation and write what matters there and what is still unknown. You can consider another situation later without ranking your whole life. There is no requirement to retake the test, find a partner’s score or change a relationship decision.
Keep the count within its limits
- Equal counts do not mean perfect balance.
- They do not mean an all capable lover.
- They do not mean wanting everything.
- They do not establish all four corresponding abilities.
- They do not predict which direction comes first in an actual relationship.
- The tie is preserved without forcing a unique leader. No combined romantic personality is created.
- This is an original product framework for exploring relationship values. It has not completed independent psychometric validation.
