Observe situational adjustment while leaving motives and consent unknown.
Read AC situational adjustments, raw frequency scores, higher or lower readings and examples without inferring motives, consent or childhood.
For AC, recall how often each of four actions occurred in the past four weeks when a relevant occasion arose, from 1 Never to 5 Almost always. All items are direct; none reverses. Four valid ratings produce a raw total of 4–20 and a descriptive mean from the unrounded sum divided by four, shown to two decimals. For example, 4, 3, 2, 5 total 14 with a mean of 3.50. Any NA leaves this group insufficient while other complete groups remain readable. The five groups are not added or normalised into energy percentages, a dominant type or an ideal shape. Ordered-category sums and decimals establish no measurement precision.
AC: observing a setting and adjusting coordination
This group uses the functional label Adapted Child, or AC, for four situational adjustments: observing group arrangements, adapting expression to agreed conventions, checking coordination with someone in charge and temporarily placing a preference after a shared sequence. It covers only those actions, not every compliance, rebellion or internal-process meaning of AC across transactional-analysis versions. Child is no age, inherently submissive nature or childhood account. Coordination is not automatically people-pleasing, sincere consent or loss of self. The items ask neither motives, available alternatives nor willingness in a particular moment; none of those gaps can be filled by a total or by comparing another person’s bar.
How the four frequency ratings are scored
For AC, recall how often each of four actions occurred in the past four weeks when a relevant occasion arose, from 1 Never to 5 Almost always. All items are direct; none reverses. Four valid ratings produce a raw total of 4–20 and a descriptive mean from the unrounded sum divided by four, shown to two decimals. For example, 4, 3, 2, 5 total 14 with a mean of 3.50. Higher: situational adjustment occurs more often
A higher result means these adjustments occurred more often in your recent account, perhaps because you encountered new groups, shared arrangements or coordination with someone in charge. It proves neither accurate social reading, an agreeable presence, fear of conflict nor suppressed needs. Understanding an arrangement differs from knowing what someone really wants, and following one arrangement establishes no consent to another matter. Privately consider whether a particular adjustment was voluntary and whether you could still express a preference, without disclosing an answer to the page. Higher AC creates no duty to keep accommodating or immediately become more direct to correct a score.
Lower: coordination may not require these actions
A lower result may reflect familiar groups, arrangements already matching your preferences, little contact with someone in charge or coordination methods absent from the items. It establishes neither social exclusion, rebellion, poor manners nor greater authenticity or independence. Rebellious actions were not measured as the opposite endpoint, so a lower score cannot become a Rebellious Child type. Use NA if a situation offered no relevant occasion, or honestly describe an action as infrequent. Consider clarifying a convention only when an actual arrangement needs it. Raising AC is no reason to surrender preferences, accept more requests or perform accommodation that would not otherwise suit the circumstances.
Observation, questions and setting preferences aside differ
You might often observe arrangements and ask a coordinator questions while rarely setting aside a personal preference; another person may report the opposite. Equal totals tell us neither willingness nor available choice and rank neither accommodation nor refusal as better. Three is no normal degree of compliance. Any NA keeps this group insufficient without estimates from supporting actions in NP or play in FC. The five frequencies are not competing energy shares: someone may frequently express requirements and adapt to a setting. Consent, boundaries and power conditions each need actual information rather than being represented by this chart or inferred from another group’s relative height.
Example and counterexample: a new activity group
When joining a new activity group, you first observe speaking arrangements, ask who is responsible for materials and decide whether to participate in the agreed sequence. That illustrates situational adjustment, not accurate guesses about everyone’s expectations. A counterexample is an established member who needs no observation and still coordinates smoothly; lower frequency is no sign of exclusion. Completing one task in sequence also establishes no inner agreement to unrelated requests or abandonment of personal preferences. Participants retain their own account of decisions. The test cannot announce their motives, consent or promises for them, nor decide whether the same arrangement suits a different occasion.
Optional check: the agreement and your preference
If useful, in an ordinary arrangement you already intend to join, clarify what was actually agreed and privately distinguish what you want, what needs a question and what you are not agreeing to yet. Whether and how to express that is your choice in the circumstances. No private justification or uniquely correct direct response is required. The experiment guarantees neither a stronger self, popularity nor a lower AC score, and you may skip it. This is not training to escape accommodation. It simply keeps one real choice better informed without using an increased or decreased score to certify whether you possess boundaries.
AC is not a people-pleasing or childhood verdict
AC is a broad functional name in transactional analysis, while our four original items cover only the listed forms of situational coordination. They are no standard TEG3, Heyer or Dusay bank and cannot reproduce those diagnostic methods. People-pleasing, interaction-habit and social-understanding topics may be related without a motive for approval being inferred from an action or scores converted across forms. Lower FC establishes no lost true self, and higher NP establishes no excessive responsibility for others. Sources explain background rather than validating this Chinese edition or individual results. There are no childhood causes, treatment instructions, norms or ideal combinations here. Keep actual examples that do not match the headline interpretation.
Full free text and optional review
All five full guides appear together for free without another assessment, an email address or payment. When reviewing, compare settings, opportunities and particular items rather than treating a score difference as treatment benefit or personality change. Answers are processed on this device without real conversations, childhood stories or third-party details. An explicitly enabled tab draft lasts at most twenty-four hours and clears on completion, retake or exit-and-clear; answering requires no saved draft. Sharing contains only the test name, public guide names and link, without answers, five scores or chart data. Later recommendations are optional different frameworks, not completion of an insufficient score. You may simply finish here.
