Closeness and boundaries — Complete Reflection Guide
The four descriptions concern wanting contact while not feeling at ease, withholding a support request, asking for a slower exchange and uncertainty after a disagreement. They concern your own experience rather than an assessment of another person. Neither closeness nor distance is assigned a preferred value.
Four descriptions retain six label counts without a clinical score, causal verdict or risk category.
Wanting connection and wanting space can coexist
- The four descriptions concern wanting contact while not feeling at ease, withholding a support request, asking for a slower exchange and uncertainty after a disagreement. They concern your own experience rather than an assessment of another person. Neither closeness nor distance is assigned a preferred value.
- An uneasy feeling cannot prove that another person is unsafe or that a relationship is damaged. Feeling at ease cannot certify safety either. The page does not assess trustworthiness, attachment style, abuse, personality or whether you should stay in a relationship. Practical boundaries do not require a questionnaire verdict.
Four selections, six separate counts
- Each topic retains four individual labels and six counts adding to four. IDs are not points. Counts refer to selected descriptions, not incidents, time, symptoms, severity or a percentage. There is no total, mean, highest topic, clinical cutoff or risk band.
- One often, one sometimes and two unscored remain those four choices. No opportunity, unclear recall and withholding do not become did not notice. An entirely unscored topic provides no finding. Frequent labels cannot establish a condition; fewer labels cannot exclude a concern or determine support needs.
A fictional example without a causal conclusion
- A fictional adult wants to speak to a familiar person but asks to pause an ordinary exchange. They can want contact and more room at the same time. A later disagreement may feel uncertain without proving that the relationship changed. No count can settle what the other person meant.
- The example is not an expected answer or a task to reproduce. A later difference may reflect opportunities, interpretation or what you felt able to recall. It does not measure recovery, deterioration, treatment response or an improvement in a relationship.
Keep original observations and other forms distinct
- These eight bilingual descriptions and two overlapping editorial topics are original and unvalidated, not the International Trauma Questionnaire or a clinical short form. The four-week window is editorial. No exposure criterion, diagnosis, repeated-event requirement, norms or established language equivalence is supplied.
- The separate trauma-response reflection retains its original twenty descriptions and four full guides. The separate self-criticism questionnaire retains its twenty-two statements, three parts and its own general setback instructions without a fixed recall window. They are not converted into these eight observations or combined into a complex-PTSD score.
One optional question about a real situation
- You may consider what made an existing exchange easier or harder to participate in, without contacting somebody for a test, demanding reassurance or disclosing a private history. Keep safety and consent in view. This guide does not instruct you to trust more, disclose more, confront somebody or remove a boundary.
- Keep any reflection small and voluntary, with existing care and useful support intact. A category does not prescribe a technique or prove that a practical choice is effective. It is reasonable to read the guide without attempting an exercise or making any change.
Support, stopping and privacy
- You can ask a qualified professional for help with distress or everyday participation without a diagnosis, a high count or proof of a past event. This page cannot decide medical need or urgency and should not delay care or change treatment. If immediate danger is present or you cannot stay safe, seek appropriate local emergency assistance rather than continuing.
- All descriptions can stay unscored and all full guides remain public. Answers stay only in current-page memory, with no draft storage, submission, questionnaire analytics or personal result address. Exit, reload, leaving and retake clear them. Copying includes only the public title and entry, never a private count or history.
