Attention during chosen activities — Complete Reading
Read attention during chosen activities without measuring ability, assigning an ADHD explanation or judging effort.
Six category counts add to four original descriptions, with individual labels retained. IDs are not points. There is no total, mean, rank, risk, diagnosis or ability score; counts do not measure events, minutes, medical safety or another person’s intentions.
Recall attention during an activity you chose
- This topic contains four original adult observations about attention moving away from intended reading, losing track of a conversation you wanted to follow, switching activities before a chosen step was finished and finding it difficult to settle back after an interruption. You can recall the past four weeks if you want. The descriptions concern remembered moments in activities, not observed performance, a measurement of attention capacity or a diagnosis. They do not establish that ADHD or any other condition explains an experience.
- The page cannot know whether instructions were clear, the material was familiar, the environment was accessible or something else needed attention. A selection does not tell whether a task was reasonable or what caused a difficulty. You do not need to prove that you tried hard enough, accept a character judgment or compare yourself with another person. The record cannot establish intelligence, motivation, work suitability or a permanent limit on what you can learn or choose to do.
Four statements keep six separate category labels
- Choose did not notice, rarely, sometimes, often, very often or unscored for each description. The six counts add to four statements, with every individual selection retained. They do not count distractions, unfinished tasks, conversations or minutes of concentration. One often, one sometimes and two unscored remains that combination rather than an attention score. IDs are labels, not points. There is no total, mean, highest topic, clinical cutoff, population rank or comparison with how much attention other people are expected to maintain.
- No relevant experience, unclear recall and withholding stay unscored, separate from did not notice. An entirely unscored topic gives no personal finding about attention, health or support needs. A small count does not prove strong capacity or rule out a concern; frequent labels do not establish a disorder. All four complete guides and support information remain public before answering and after every pattern. You can read them without producing a record or finding a category that seems to fit.
Put a remembered moment back into its setting
- Imagine a fictional person trying to follow a conversation in an unfamiliar language while several people speak at once. Another person remembers losing the thread in a quiet conversation they wanted to follow. Both may recognise one description, without having the same circumstances or need for support. The questionnaire cannot decide which explanation applies or compare their ability. These examples illustrate missing context, rather than proving that the environment caused the experience or asking you to recreate it as a test.
- You may remember that an interruption made returning difficult without knowing why. A broader account could include what you intended to do and what happened around that moment, if you choose to consider it privately. The page requests no task transcript, work message, medical history or information about another person. You can keep the description broad, withhold or leave. Recognising a statement does not determine that the task was badly designed, that effort was missing or that a health condition was present.
The existing executive-function page remains separate
- FermatMind also has a separate fourteen-item ADEXI self-report page with working-memory and inhibition readings. That existing page can help you explore those particular descriptions without this supplement rewriting its items, anchors, version or adopted arithmetic. The four attention statements here are original recent observations and are not additional ADEXI items. Following a public link does not transfer answers. This page neither administers the fourteen-item form nor loads or combines a personal result from it into the current category record.
- The existing form asks how well its statements describe you and adds no fixed recent recall period. This supplement uses remembered frequency over four weeks and keeps counts of statements. Their numbers cannot be added, averaged or compared as if they used one scale. Fourteen existing items and sixteen original observations do not become a thirty-item instrument. The topics may overlap. Neither page provides an ADHD probability, assigns a neurotype or becomes a validated combined clinical instrument through reading them together.
Recollection does not require a performance test
- You do not need to repeat a reading passage, complete a memory game, open a message or make yourself lose focus to answer. There is no attention drill, productivity target or required experiment. You may keep one ordinary phrase about a moment that mattered and leave the rest. If considering the descriptions becomes burdensome, pause or stop. Completion is needed only for this page to organise its private category record, not for access to reading or an appropriate professional conversation.
- If you want to ask about support, one opening could be “I have noticed difficulty staying with activities I choose, and I would like to understand what may help.” A qualified healthcare professional can consider physical health, history and wider circumstances beyond these statements. This original reflection is not the ASRS or clinical criteria. Four weeks is an editorial recall window, not a diagnostic duration. You need not wait for months, prove childhood onset or show difficulty in several settings before asking a question.
Support does not depend on a concentration count
- You can ask about a concern without finishing either page or reaching a minimum count. The record cannot assess the need or urgency of healthcare, replace existing professional advice or tell you to change medicine, care or monitoring. A small count is not reassurance about health or safe performance. If you are in immediate danger or cannot stay safe, seek local emergency assistance rather than continuing to answer. The website cannot observe your situation, arrange care or respond to an emergency.
- The same support information appears before answers, on every full guide and for every response pattern, including all unscored. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis, a school history or a work difficulty to the website. This is an adult self-reflection, not a parent report, a way to assess a child or an employment decision tool. A concern can be worth discussing without a category deciding that you have the right kind of attention pattern to deserve support.
A different record is not a change in capacity
- These original bilingual observations have no established norms, validated clinical cutoff or demonstrated English–Chinese measurement equivalence. A later difference can reflect recall, interpretation, available activities or circumstances and cannot measure recovery, deterioration, treatment response or attention capacity. There is no score to improve or required monitoring schedule. Emotional intensity, energy context and social interpretation in the other guides are not additional ADHD diagnostic criteria. You may keep a useful phrase without treating the combined reading topics as a new clinical model.
- Answers remain only in current-page memory, with no stored draft, submission, questionnaire analytics or personal result address. Exit, retake, reload and leaving clear the record. Copying the public entry shares only its title and address. All four complete guides are the same public text for every reader; the existing ADEXI readings retain their own separate pages. You can read without answering, stop midway or ask a professional question without obtaining a combined score, a diagnosis or an explanation of your brain from the website.
