Original self-reflection questionnaire · Full results free
Explore six separate SDT need experiences with 24 original ratings and free full guides. No fixed motivation type, ability, health or career verdict.
24 questions · about 6 minutes · no signup
Choose in your mind one ordinary area you took part in over the past four weeks, such as a course, an interest activity or a kind of shared everyday task. Keep the same area throughout; do not enter its name on the website. Rate how often each statement occurred there from 1 Never to 5 Almost always. Choose NA for absent context, insufficient information or declining to answer. Twenty-four original items separately explore satisfaction and frustration experiences for autonomy, competence and relatedness. Each four-item part needs three ratings for a one-decimal mean. Keep all six parts separate: frustration is not reverse-scored, low satisfaction does not automatically mean high frustration, and there is no subtraction, total or fixed motivation type. The reflection determines no other person’s actual intention, ability, health, career fit or reason for your actions.

Willingly endorsing an arrangement, feeling able to manage a step and experiencing care can be considered separately from pressure, dismissed attempts or exclusion. Choose one ordinary area over four weeks and reflect with 24 original items. Full results retain six means or insufficient-information states and all guides, without an overall motivation score, fixed persona or career verdict. The explanations distinguish the three needs and satisfaction from frustration.
After all 24 selections, calculate six parts separately. Each has four items rated 1 Never to 5 Almost always. There are no reverse items: frustration never reverses into satisfaction. Exclude NA for absent context, insufficient information or declining to answer, without filling zero, a midpoint or another part’s score. At least three ratings permit a one-decimal mean from 1 to 5, using scored sum divided by rated items; otherwise retain insufficient information. Do not add, subtract or rank the six means into a personality or most important need. There is no overall motivation score, health index, norm, percentile or scientific cutoff. Equal means stay equal; decimals establish no significance or change, and middle means can reflect different answers. The minimum is a website completeness convention rather than a validated psychometric standard.
Self-Determination Theory discusses autonomy, competence, relatedness and different forms of motivational regulation. This edition observes only six need experiences in one selected area: satisfaction and frustration for each need. Satisfaction concerns positive experiences; frustration concerns felt thwarting. An absence of satisfaction does not automatically establish active frustration. Autonomy requires no independent decision-making, felt competence is no measured skill, and connection is no extraversion or friend count. Need importance, intrinsic interest, reward-driven action and reasons for acting are unmeasured; a highest mean does not identify your true motivator.
For example, an autonomy satisfaction mean of 4.0 and frustration mean of 2.0 describe separate reported frequencies; subtracting them creates no valid net autonomy score. If both are higher, consider different events or times rather than automatically declaring contradictory answers. If both are lower, neither experience may have occurred often, without establishing ideal balance. Keep all six parts and explicit missing information. All six full guides remain available together.
Read what each of the 6 parts explores. Your complete result presents them together; they are not mutually exclusive personality types. These public guides contain no one’s answers or personal means.
Explore willingly endorsed participation, including cooperation, with higher, lower and mixed readings. Autonomy is no independence or fixed motivation type.
Read reported pressure separately from ordinary limits and low satisfaction, with mixed examples, wording and observations; no verdict of others’ intentions.
Explore feeling able to start, affect a step and recognise progress, with mixed examples and comparisons; reported competence is no measured ability.
Separate task difficulty, uncertainty and felt dismissal, with higher, lower and mixed readings; review feedback and conditions without an ability verdict.
Explore experienced care and acceptance with mixed examples and limits. Connection is no count of contacts, extraversion, teamwork ability or career verdict.
Separate little interaction from experienced exclusion, with mixed readings, examples and observations; means determine no intentions or relationship decision.

No. Each need has separate satisfaction and frustration items about four weeks in the same selected area. Missing positive experience does not automatically establish thwarting. Keep six means without a net score, overall motivation or highest-score type, and interpret mixed patterns without assigning a persona.
No. This edition concerns willing endorsement, experienced effectiveness at a step, and care and acceptance. Cooperation can include autonomy, beginners can feel effective in a small step and few exchanges can include connection. Actual skill, social ability, need importance and career fit are unmeasured.

This original FermatMind 24-item contextual frequency reflection uses the three SDT needs as conceptual background while keeping satisfaction and frustration separate. It is no official, standard, clinical or research-validated instrument. No BPNSFS, BPNSS, IMI, MWMS, WEIMS, GCOS bank, key, norm, official translation or competitor items, body or algorithm is adopted. English and Chinese questions, mappings, examples and explanations are independently authored without local reliability, validity or established language equivalence. References provide background without validating this bank, minimum or interpretations. Martela and Ryan’s open article supplies background under CC BY 4.0; examples and explanations are original, and that article’s licence covers no other bank. Means assess no need importance, actual ability, motivational regulation, causes, others’ intentions, health, output, hiring or career fit, and assign no five fixed motivation personas. Actual situations and duties require their own facts.
No. It organises reported frequencies in these original items without measuring causes, actual environments, illness, exhaustion, ability or performance. Need means determine no motivational regulation or career. Six guides provide examples, comparisons and optional observations; actual problems need actual information, without making a lowest or highest part a universal cause.
Yes, without signup or email. Read all six full guides first. All 24 selections produce six means or insufficient-information states, and NA never hides the body. Retaking clears selections. Optional sharing contains no answers, selected area name or means; further tests require separate answers.
Answers are scored in your browser without uploading them or putting them in URLs or analytics. Keep the selected area in mind without entering its name. Drafts require opt-in, restore only in this tab, expire after 24 hours and clear on completion, retake or exit-and-clear. Optional sharing contains public test information and a link without answers or means. Full results are free without signup, email or another test to unlock them. Further assessments are optional and require separate full answers rather than conversion.
